Had a little fun in my ‘21 Mach 1 chasing a ‘22 Porsche 911 GT3 at NOLA Motorsports last week. He towed me to my best few laps of the day. There were over 50 cars at the open track day - I think the breakdown was 21 in Novice, 24 in Intermediate, and 6 in Advanced (some serious cars in that group). I ran Intermediate, and I’d say me and the GT3 were in the top 3 or 4 in that group. He was a tad faster than me, but my little pony car held its own.

On another note, some may remember me posting my Cup 2 tires after around 2,500 miles and 1 track day last year….
After that track day, I replaced the Cups with Pilot Sport 4S tires. Here’s a pic after around 15,000 miles and 2 track days…
The first track day on the 4S tires was a month after the Cup 2 tires track day. I ran the same lap times as I did on the Cups. Granted, I usually improve by a second or two each track day, so there may have been a little drop off but nothing too significant (and the 4S tires are sooooo much better on the street and in the rain). I then went a year between track days on the 4S tires, and after putting 15,000 miles on them, my best lap time was a 2:04.42 compared to a 2:03.00 when the tires were new. Also, I don’t do camber adjustments or anything else. I run it exactly like I do every other day aside from lowering the air pressure in the tires.
