Just saw the Fitcamx install video. Definitely looks clean with an easy install.

I'm curious, what if your in an accident and the power is disabled? Does it have a SD card you can easily get to and pull out? I assume if you get the rear camera version is just connects automatically to the rear camera?

I have been using Viofo 139 Pro 2CH since the last summer, the long story is here:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/dash-cam-and-mounting-options.188865/post-3821514

Some random 😂 footage is here:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/what-did-you-do-to-your-mach-1-today.171200/post-3821899

Few comments (copied from my post in Mustang7g forum) follow:

Just to add an observation from few months of use of Viofo 139 Pro dual:
  • The parking mode with motion detection seems to have some delay. I would probably not rely on this one. On the other hand the "low bitrate mode" looks to be alright. Got maybe 3-5 hours of runtime with 12V cut off limit set.
  • Between QHD@60fps and UHD@30fps I prefer the latter for the far better clarity and detail.
  • The CPL filter helps a lot and it is not available for the rear cam which is really unfortunate. You will see a perfect reflection of your under window liner in the footage thanks to the shallow slope and a sheer length of the Mustang rear window.
  • The only real gripe I have with the camera though is a way one can control the parking mode operation. The only way to turn it on or off is via a Wifi app on a phone (because A139 does not have a display)
You need first to connect the phone to camera, then turn off the recording, then go into setting, select the parking mode, go back, turn on the recording, disconnect wifi and potentially turn the wifi off completely, otherwise your phone may stay connected to the camera and not get the data over the cellular network.
Now, whether you need or want toggle the parking mode depends totally on your car habits. I am normally parking in a garage and do not need to record the parking lot and waste the SD card and battery on this, so I have the parking mode turned off for most of the time. Only when I park somewhere outside I turn it on and that is the moment for the exercise I described above which I hate.

I have the VIOFO A139 Pro 2 channel as well and have been happy with it.

Checking out the FitcamX right now. How essential do you all view the rear camera? Looks like it uses the came connection as the front, assuming you have to pull the headliner down to hide the wire for the rear?

Personally I would not go for the rear camera. I figured who ever rear ends you is screwed anyway. Mostly the Front is important. You can go around the sides of the headliner its flexible you may need to pull a few plastic panels apart but shouldn't be too hard. Shouldn't need to pull it down.

Looks like the front only version comes with a 64GB SD card. FYI that Amazon has a better price and an additional 5% off coupon.

I think they all come with a card. I went ahead and ordered the front and rear version from Fitcamx. Found a 20% discount code online so it was only $286 with free shipping.

Looks like they’re all compatible with up to 128GB cards too.

That’s a good discount code too

Are they easy to install? How are they powered?
You can power them through your rearview mirror with a dongle ,if it’s powered, or run a line up from your OBD port. Install is easy.

I was under the impression it connected to the rear camera automatically. It doesnt say on the website and no one here seems to know. If I have to run a wire to the back, it's getting returned.

The rear camera cable also takes its power from the front rain sensor. That cable is 20+ feet long. For you to decide how to run it from the front mirror to the back windshield. Most people decide to push it / pull it straight under the headliner to avoid messing with the A and C pillar airbags when going around.

Link above has plenty of pictures and videos.

Can it be disconnected so you don't have to run the cable?

This is super annoying. There is absolutely no info on their website about the rear camera portion. Had I known it wasn't plug and play I wouldn't have gotten the rear version. Trying to cancel my order now but of course there is no phone number to call. 😡
