Did you just tap in to the same power source as the dash cam? Only on when the car is on?
They both power off with the car. Also they each connect to a different connector.

For the radar I got a tap kit and tapped into the connector which was pretty easy.

the dash is even better you just clip into the harness using a supplied y connector . No need to tap at all.

Cool, Iā€™ve got the FitcamX, just havenā€™t gotten around to installing it yet. Been looking at the Uniden, just havenā€™t pulled the trigger yet

For the radar, did you tap into the rain sensor/dash cam connector? Or a different set of wires?

I don't have the safe-and-smart package on my 2020 but I was able to tap my Uniden R7 into the rearview mirror plug. I'll try and take a picture/find the guide I used when I get home.

Its a different connector. Dash cams plugs into connector on the left. I tapped into a connector on the right. I am not sure what connector it is, I just test it making sure it powers down with the car so Radar does not stay on when the car is off.
