Time to proactively protect myself. Adding a uniden R8 and Viofo A229 Pro 2 channel to my car. Not much of an electronics guy by any means. Explain to me how these 2 devices should be wired for power on my front windshield. Also best route for wiring to rear facing camera. If it matters they will both be dedicated to this Mach 1. Thanks.

Yeah, I read about that but is there a way to daisy chain power to the dash cam from it or do I need a separate power source for it? How much juice does the mirror port provide?

Call em up…I’ll bet they have a solution. But the cable is (obviously) 12volt, with a 2 amp fuse on a 26 gauge wire šŸ˜‰

You may read my post about A139 Pro 2 channel install here.
I do not know if you are going to hardwire the cam (via HK3-C kit, or whatever kit A229 Pro might have), I would like to point out few things anyway:
1) The rear camera cable is pretty long. I managed to stock it behind the side kick door panel, but it takes quite a space there.
2) The same goes for HK3-C kit.
3) I routed the rear camera cable along the bottom. I heard, you could remove the headliner and route it directly across the top. I did not have the courage to remove the headliner plus it would leave me with even more redundant cable.
In retrospect however, I would rather try this, as the routing along the C pillar is clearly a source of some noises - I guess the cable is loose there.
4) Prepare yourself for the attachment procedure so you do not end up with bubbles as I did.
If you do however, there is still a chance to fix it with very thin injection needle and syringe by sucking the air out.

Following... want to add front / rear dash cam as well, and may consider the radar detector while I'm at it. No idea what brand or model of either yet though.
