Replacing the module will NOT solve the problem. The factory units work perfectly fine, mechanically...blowing cold air into the seat bottom...blowing cool air into the seat back...while exhausting the hot air within the seat interior. Eventually the hot air builds up more than the cool air.
So, your service department is going to dig into your seats, replace the module(s) and you will still have the same problem.
Only a design (manufacturing) change with a hot air exhaust duct is going to fix the problem.
The late 2016's or 2017 models may have the change....but don't expect Ford to change our 2015's. I found a mapping defect in the NAV GPS software...Ford admitted to the defect, and said they would fix it in the 2016's. But refused to issue new corrected A6 chips to present owners.

Picked up my 15 last night and had an over 200 mile ride home. Had the ventilated seat on high the whole way home. The seat bottom worked very well as people have mentioned. The back leaves something to be desired. Like others have mentioned I wouldn't call it defective, just a poor design. If you lean up and feel the seat you can feel some what cool air moving through the center of the seat back. But only in that one area. Though I wouldn't say the air is hot I just don't think it can keep up with the heat your body transfers to the seat.

So without a redesigned part and TSB I don't see it being fixed at the dealer level. Or it getting better the a 16 either. At least early 16's bc my 15 has a 7/15 production date and just got delivered on the 20th.

The problem's worse when the interior is really hot (100F+). The back just keeps heating up when in "Cooling" mode.

You should leave you car outside on a sunny day (90F+) and give it another shot.
That's what yesterday was...maybe I just didn't notice because I was in the car long enough for the cabin to get pretty cold and stay regulated. I had the A/C on auto 72 deg and was comfortable.

I could see how on a hot day and it being a short trip it seem worse because your not in the car long enough for the cabin to stay at a steady temp. Tinted windows will help a too keeping the seat from getting so hot the already poor design doesn't stand a chance.

If you want to see tons of info on seat issue, swing over to 2015 F-150 Forum thread on subject......AZPLATINUMEB

Took mine in for heat shield TSB (a whole other story), had the dealer also check seat cooling. He noted the lack of cooling for the back yet indicated no codes set. He reported the issue to Ford, to get it logged. He DID refer to the F150 seats (similar design) and said that he is fully expecting TSB for F150, and most likely the Mustang as well. Maybe the popcorn is starting to pop.....

Tried the heated seats tonight... they work pretty good (at least at 60 degrees... let's see what happens at 20).

Did the dealer give you any documentation directly relating to the seat backs not cooling?

That's giving me flashbacks to when I first got mine.

My recollection is that the seat bottom got hot and the back didn't.

I was annoyed, because other cars I've driven had independent control of the temperature for the bottom. My preference is to crank up the heat on the back but keep the bottom off.

The heated seats on the '15 work a hell of a lot better than they did on my '14.

Mine got hot top to bottom. I actually had to shut it off.

As part of Ford’s commitment to quality, we continuously monitor reports from our customers and dealers and are aware of the concern that some 2015 F-150 customers are experiencing with a lack of cooling from the seatback. Our Engineering and Service teams have been working closely with our supplier to develop a solution, which will be available to Ford dealers in September and implemented in production going forward.

Nice, that's great news. Here's hoping that they bring this over to the Mustang.

If Ford does a fix for the F150 they will also do a similar fix for the Mustang. It would be asinine for them to not also address the same issue on the Mustang, or any other vehicle model they manufacture.

It's my biggest disappointment in the car. The back is the only part of the seat that matters, if I have to pick just one. I'd have spec'd Recaros had I known the design was so subpar.
My thoughts exactly! It's bullshit I gave up redline recaro package for this subpar "cooled seats"!
