So I'm looking at getting a catch can for my 2020 GT Premium. I will provide the links to the two options below.

One catch can is driver side, and one catch can is passenger side. The price difference is $10 and they are from the same company. Is there really any difference between the two besides the location? If there's more to this, then which side would you recommend? It's noted that I am eventually going to boost this car (procharger) in the future.

Driver side: J&L Mustang 3.0 Oil Separator; Black Anodized; Driver Side 3024D-B (18-23 Mustang GT) - Free Shipping (americanmuscle.com)

Passenger side: J&L Mustang 3.0 Oil Separator; Black Anodized; Passenger Side 3024P-B (18-23 Mustang GT) - Free Shipping (americanmuscle.com)

Do you wanna catch both sides or just one?
Edit: if your going ProCharger in the future just wait on the CC and then go with a UPR dual system.

Passenger side for a stock engine.
Both sides for a tracked car or a boosted engine.

You don't need one on the driver side.

I have them on both sides only because the driver side looks too empty and I obsess about symmetry.

I've never gotten a drop from the driver side separator on my supercharged nor my lightly-tracked S550s.

This OP. I have the one you linked on my non-boosted 21 for the passenger side. Quick, easy install. I get a few teaspoons worth of oil every 5,000 miles

I run a passenger side UPR catch can and track my car. For the record Iā€™d only buy from UPR when it comes to catch cans.

Why not ford performance?

The reason the drivers side can never catches any oil is because that side is to allow air into the block in the event of a vacuum build up. So the airflow is going the other way. If you look the other end the hose attaches to the air intake tube between the air filter and the throttle body. So it's allowing filtered air into the block. Only the passenger side is made to allow air pressure to escape out of the block.

First mod was UPR catch can. Have also heard passenger side for N/A and both sides for boosted applications.

From what I see the ford brand separator is $250 and uses plastic for the catch can and tubing. UPR materials are higher quality and mine was $160.
The plastic actually has a purpose though, it provides better insulation from heat given the location in the engine bay. Catch cans operate better in a certain temperature range. When I had my UPR one that mounted next to the radiator, it would run cool enough to catch way more water and fuel than oil. My FP can only caught oil.

With that said, my car hates catch cans and none of the ones I've tried have fit quite right. I might try the UPR one that hangs in the location the FP one uses.

Takes longer to open the box than it does to install.

Iā€™ve never put a catch can on anyone of my high-performance vehicles in my lifetime. Iā€™m just wondering if any of you guys have failed emissions depending on your state for having one.
