I am putting new spark plugs and injectors in and while I was doing that I decided to send a borescope into the cylinder that had bad misfire at one point due to VCT solenoid issues. I just want to know what you guys think, is it normal looking, does it look damaged or dirty? Any thoughts on...
So recently Iāve had some work done to my car, vct solenoids replaced, opg and cs, twin disc clutch and valve cover gasket replaced when vct solenoids were replaced. I was going under the car to put mmr block braces on and noticed some oil or some fluid on the driver side going as high to the...
Iāve seen a lot of threads on people with mustangs deciding on what to use and I see most people agree on 5w30. That being said most of those posts are from people that own a 2018+. Iām just curious what people with the Gen2 motor are running and if I should stick with 5w30. I donāt redline my...
Hello everyone, I just did an oil change on my dad's 2021 Ford Mustang GT, is it normal for there to be a little bit of play and gap between the plug and oil pan? Mine does the same thing when the oil is changed but it eventually sinks into place fully, for reference my dad's car is the top...
Hi to all,
I would like to do a full car service to my 2016 Ford Mustang GT/CS and I would also like to change the differential oil together with the automatic transmission oil.
This is because I do not know when and what the previous owner did on this car.
I bought the car from USA and I'm...
Edit: Please read posts in pages 1 & 2 that contain more info on part numbers and tuning changes required for this conversion. Also contains links for the best deals on parts (save $100+ on sensor & connector)
Gen 2 cars either come with an oil pressure switch (normal/low pressure) or an oil...
Has anyone put a gen3 coyote oil pan on a gen2 car? I know there are companies that make kits that do the opposite.
I am rebuilding my engine and purchased a gen3 coyote short block from Ford. It comes with the complete gen3 oiling system (pan, pickup tube/windage tray, and oil pump). I've done...
Hello-
I am a dedicated Ford and mustang fan. But my knowledge of cars is limited. I gave a ā21 Mach 1 with embarrassingly low miles. I store it for the winter. Although I probably do not need to do this, I do an oil change before storage and after storage.
itās been out of storage for a...
Hello all,
been reading up a bit on catch cans for my 18ā GT350, and i keep getting a concerning mix of opinions. i see people swearing by them and then also hearing about blowing up engines because a seal broke.
Thoughts and experiences??
Just got my oil changed and that tick is making me tick, so I'm thinking of throwing in a bottle of Ceratec. Do you guys use the full 10 quarts of oil and just dump the Ceratec in, or do you use less oil? Any risk of overfilling?
Side note: Been toying with the idea of 5w30 on the next oil...
So I'm looking at getting a catch can for my 2020 GT Premium. I will provide the links to the two options below.
One catch can is driver side, and one catch can is passenger side. The price difference is $10 and they are from the same company. Is there really any difference between the two...
For those who has a TT setup, what do you use for your engine oil ? My fbo 18 has always seen the full synthetic oil from Ford dealer, and no issues. Should I stick with that on my (soon to be) TT setup or change it to something else that is better for the turbos ? Hellion recommending HPL...
Just bought my first s550, itās a 2019 gt, bone stock. Anytime I buy a car a change the oil. First thing I noticed was that it was leaking oil from the oil filter, and after draining the oil there appears to be alot of metal particles in my drain pan. I cut open the filter and same thing, a lot...
Thatās right I have successfully blown up my 2nd engine with only 5,500 miles!
Looks like the engine starved of oil and spun some bearings along with damaging at least one vct solenoid or camshaft.
Was doing a nice long pull and noticed engine stopped making power and I could hear the tone...

My 2020 Shelby GT500 suffered engine oil overheats at a hot track day recently. You could feel the engine was down on power. Once home, I went to work finding the culprit and recently tested my solution at a subsequent track day, which was successful! I show what the problem was and how I went...
Well with the car sold, guess I won't be needing this stuff either
Motul - best I've used whilst racing, in the very specific Ford 948B spec, as required by the V8's and Bullitts
Although there's £90 worth here - for sale for £25 on the premise that the buyer collects or arranges collection...
