Did you really come back to a mustang forum to brag about how your e9x is better than mustangs (in your opinion) ? Damn, that's some weak sauce. I'm a BMW guy through and through, wouldn't go to the BMW forum and talk on my Mustang.
This post is in a vs section just comparing my experience...
You must be looking at an e46 m3 convertible. You have no clue.
Maybe the e93 convertible, but e92ās are 3500-3650 depending on spec lol. Itās a fact the v8 engine is lighter and makes more power, you donāt really have a clue. I like e46ās too, just a bigger fan of the s65.
My mustang was...
Actually the e92 m3 is ~60 lbs heavier than an e46 m3, so really not much. The s65 v8 is lighter than the s54, and makes more power. Itās true the e92 is more tame, itās far more refined than my last s550. I added a corsa exhaust that gives a nice note. Iāve considered a carbon air box as well...
I think mustangs are great, but I just prefer my e92 for driver feel, and the aspects I listed beyond lap times. I also have a warranty for my engine/trans If anything catastrophic happens.
Main bearing failures are very uncommon, and thereās a lot of research on this subject. The rod bearing replacements provide larger clearance. Also who actually follows recommended oil change intervals lol.
Rod bearings are a one and done, since you replace the right OEM clearance bearings with slightly larger ones. The throttle actuators are also a one time fix.
Yeah, and I think itās better than new mustangs too. The e9x chassis delivers far better driver feel and engagement. The E90 was only made for 3 years, and will hold or appreciate in value and a new mustang will depreciate hard.
Yeah the limerock park edition doesnāt represent the general market well. These cars can be had for decent prices, depending on spec. The sedan variant is more rare too.
I was cross shopping e92 m3ās with mustang GTās, and the repairs held me back too. In the end itās more expensive, but not terrible. I bought mine with a warranty just in case anything catastrophic goes bad, but itās been a great car.
Beautiful M3's.
I occasionally tout with the idea of owning an E92 M3. Owned a 07' Z4 Coupe in the past and stayed a BMW fanatic since owning that car. Love my mustang but the Ms are a total different experience.
I you don't mind me asking. What was your purchasing process like for the M3...
Yes, I loved my mustang for grand touring. Stock the suspension is floaty, but very comfortable. The 6th gear overdrive worked great for all the road-trips I took. The DCT is very race oriented. Tight ratios, so 7th gear at 70 mph is ~3k rpm lol.
I had my mustang GT for 2 years, modifying it with long tubes, Gt350 manifold, and coilovers. It was my track+street car, and it really fit that role well.
3 months ago I went and sold the s550 and picked up a 2013 E92 M3 comp with a DCT. The difference is night and day. The chassis is far more...
Hey all,
After a hard track day last week, I had this code come up. Car is a ā15 GT, tuned with a GT350 intake manifold and long tube headers, āfree flowing exhaustā. 5 months ago I swapped OEM spark plugs. The car runs fine, but on track I experienced a slight jerking when at partial throttle...
The āstagesā I did were pretty simple and saved me the most money.
1: PMAS tune required cold air, GT350 intake manifold+ OEM throttle body adaptor. *You really shouldnāt buy a different TB, the stock one is sufficient.
2: Kooks long tube headers, O/R connection pipes.
3: Coilovers, swaybar...
I agree that boost is 100% the best bang for buck with power. However many N/A modifications will support performance while boosted. If you want boost ASAP, no need to swap intake manifolds, and you could keep the stock cold air. Headers will be the most beneficial, especially making them āfree...
