Hey guys - need brake pad recommendations for my specific use case. 2020 350R, not being tracked or auto crossed but I do drive it spiritedly…not 10/10 on public streets of course but I’d say as hard as one would reasonably push a 350 on back roads :)

The brake dust on the OE pads is killing me - especially since my M2CS has carbon ceramics and never gets any dust! Made worse by the gloss black wheels…after one short drive, looks like I never cleaned them. Guys in the M community have taken a liking to Carbotech 1521s as a good performance pad that significantly cuts down on dust. I know there will likely be some performance compromise, but since I am not trying to smash lap times, I’m OK with some loss.

Searched around on here and see some folks have used the 1521s with solid results, but looking for opinions more broadly - what’s your top pad suggestion for someone looking to maintain as much performance as possible while significantly cutting down brake dust?

Thank you!

G-loc GS-1 is my street pad of choice. You won’t notice a degradation of performance on the street and there’s almost zero dust. There are cheaper pads, there are more expensive pads…. But these things do what they’re supposed to do for a reasonable price.

G-locs are great. Also recommend Powerstop Z26s. Great price, very little dust, and close to oem feel.

How much do you REALLY hate brake dust? If you are a real true hater of brake dust, you will just buy this kit: https://racingbrake.com/for-crk-02/
I have a few thoughts….

1’st: That’s a true bargain and everyone NEEDS that!!!!
2’nd: I’m not sure how much that’ll help on the street.
3’rd: I can’t find my credit card… I think my wife hid it from me to keep me from making unnecessary car purchases.

Going through the same thing, as my stock pads are almost due for replacement. I heard many people recommend the Powerstop Z26's. Which is what I'll probably go with. And I won't have to take out a loan to buy them.

^^ This, this, and this. ^^

Sevearal road rallies in the mountains (Dragon, etc), and I cannot out brake these pads. And trust me, dust (or lack thereof) is waaayyyyyy up on my priority list.

2nd this. Easy pass on the Z26 Powerstops. They suck. Braking is compromised being the primary reason. The bite is terrible with them, and they don't like heat.

I am running these on my 18 PP1...very happy with bite, no dust and price!

I agree to disagree on this. By no means am I saying they are as good as the G-loc. However, compared to OEM, no complaints whatsoever about street-driving and spirited-driving the Z26s. I don't have heat dissipation issues on the street; on the track I'd likely agree with you.

I would agree with MiamiGT350, I've had them on for 2 years and notice no difference in pedal feel, initial bite, and resistance to fad in normal and spirited street driving. Add in low dust and they make for a really good alternative to stock pads. I also run these in my C7 Z06 with the same results. Track time requires a different pad entirely. My $.02 worth. Note: they do need to be bedded in properly in order to have good initial and cold bite.

Dude, you are in Florida. In order to find a twisty road you need to circle a round -a-bout in both directions. :)

I probably couldn't over heat them in Fl either. 5 or 6 minuets on one of our Ky back roads and you will start cussing them.

Agree here with respect to track use/spirited use.

I cooked a set (in a friends car) on one 60 second AutoX run. Straight roads around town, I am sure they function just fine.
