One of the best streak free glass cleaners I have found is ZEP glass cleaner, you can purchase it at Home Depot.

Careful with any cleaner with ammonia. Can damage tint film and some other car surfaces. ZEP makes another version without ammonia.

@DFB5.0 - Please could you let me know what make / where you got those waffle bonnets ?

The standard kit (in the U.K.) doesn’t contain them and it doesn’t look like invisible glass sell them separately (again in the U.K.).

The bonnets in my kit don’t look as good quality as the one in your photo ...

Cheers,

I have found that even with everything clean and with brand new (traditional) style invisible glass microfibre bonnets on the invisible glass handle, if you work the product for too long / until it is dry the microfibre can shed very small fibres that catch the sunlight and look like streaks.

I don't seem to be able to find (in the UK) the nice waffle weave bonnets for the invisible glass handle i.e. these type that @DFB5.0 uses :

I had some waffle weave hand held pads that I tried and using all the same techniques with the invisible glass they worked perfectly.

I am now considering recycling up my old waffle weave drying towels for use on glass. I still have an early / very old one of these :

That came in a clear plastic storage tube :like:

For me, the waffle microfiber seems to work much better than traditional 'fluffy' microfibers on glass.

My first step is a ritual sacrifice of my old Megs waffle drying towel ... :cwl:

I don't use it on paintwork anymore so I have nothing to lose anyway :like:

A quick update !

After a trip to the states and whilst wondering around Walmart getting annoyed with how much we have to pay for basic products in the U.K., I spotted this for $15 :

Not only did I score two of the nice waffle bonnets (old U.K. style bonnets on the top) :

1671744840949.jpeg

I realised there were a few other small updates (improvements ?). First up, the thin shitty foam backing is now thicker and rougher :

1671744949626.jpeg

The backing plate is also thinner, more flexible and all three corners are turned down :

1671745019395.jpeg

The new backing material kind of acts like a Velcro for the new style non elasticated bonnets :

Whilst I’ve not used it on the car yet, it appears quite effective and much quicker to use. Note : old style bonnets will still fit.

So my new kit now includes a double length handle :

I did think about a comment on keeping the new double ender away from the misses, but thought better of it - I’ve pushed my luck on here once today already … :giggle:

Edit : Did I mention it’s quite soft with some ergonomic ribs … ?

I read about these cleaning cloths in a thread somewhere in this forum and never believed they could be as good claimed. But I happened to see them on Amazon and threw a pack in my cart to see what the hoopla was all about. I got them yesterday and found they do all they said they would and more. So easy and no spray to worry about, just wet, wring out, wipe and let dry. I couldn't believe it, absolutely clear glass with no streaks. Works great on SS as well.

Did you use window cleaner or plain water to clean the glass?

Hmmmm.... I might give those a try someday... never heard of them.

----

I think most of the problem with cleaning glass isn't so much the actual cleaner or chemical being used (because many proclaim "no streaks"), but the actual material being used to wipe the window down...

I've used countless glass products that claim "no streaks", but I get streaks - but I've attributed that to the actual cloth (or paper towel) leaving those streaks... because depending on which I use and the type of material, sometimes there's a streak, other times not.

Thanks Chris. Added them to my cart next time I need a shipping filler.

Thank you!!! I was ordering a new snow shovel after I wore out the metal strip on my old one, so I figured I'd try some of these cloths. They came today and I gave one a test drive around the kitchen. Stove top, porcelain tile counters, stainless appliance fronts, etc. Wow! Something that actually works as advertised. I'll have to do a careful test before I trust them on my window tint, but I know they'll be great for wheels, exhaust tips, under the hood, and maybe more. I'm not throwing away the Invisible Glass and its wand, but these will definitely be added to my cleaning routine, in the house and in the garage.
