That's the one!

I understand you want just a bit of downforce to stabilize the rear end but honestly, I would skip the spoilers or anything smaller than a full size wing.
With a spoiler, there is no room for growth. You'll want to go bigger eventually and then the spoiler was just wasted money.
I get what you're saying and ultimately agree, but I'm also a parking lot junky, so I'm limited to an oddly large spoiler (Did anyone request a Big 10"?) and wings are no-no's. Yes, I could have a separate lash-up between HPDE and autocross, but for what? Am I going to win a track day, LOL!?!

My overall goal is to make a couple easy to swap pieces which make me relatively sporty in CAM and give a bit of aero stability/lift reduction on a big track. Then I pop them off when on the street because they're easy to curb and look like hell. I understand the ceiling on this approach is pretty limited in terms of ultimate performance, but there is *some* logic (even if warped) around it.

BTW, Johnny from 9-Lives is similar to AJ. He's exactly the type of guy you want to support and be successful, because they both really work to put out great products and they both use the same products they sell their customers. Kudos to both of them!

I'm not following....
That's exactly what time attack is.
There's HPDE for practice/fun and time attack for competition. I assume same format for autox (can't speak from experience; never done autox before)

For autocross spoilers are more efficient Erik.
At 60.70mph the amount of DF a wing generate.is.minimum. A spoiler is great to reduce lift. And more efficient at lower speed.but at higher speed becomes super draggy. So for trackdays Time trials wing will become more efficient.

If anything, the extra drag acts like feathers on a dart and gives you stability to throw the car around. Drag always *feels* good, even when it slows you down. (<---- Boy, that sentence out of context would get me in trouble.)

There's a misunderstanding here. I'm not doing formal Time Attack. I am going to do HPDE days. Speed Ventures has the 'Mustang' competition which is a Time Attack type of a thing. I'll enter that, but I don't particularly care where I end up on the sheet. I'm not going to drive any easier or harder because of that ranking. I'm only planning to modify the car in the direction of the CAM rules. It's not optimum, but it is a limit, which is actually nice to have. It's allowed me to define the box I'm going to play in.

my thoughts are pretty much along the same lines, minus the autox part that I'm not interested in that much. If I'm only doing HPDE and the only competitor I have is myself, how much aero do I need for the car that I also use to go to work? decisions, decisions.

I assume that since my car is supercharged, this puts me out of any reasonable competition classes anyways, so why bother with this. I mainly want to focus on fun and building skills.

Ops .sell Watson rollbar. Black
Oh?! Going full cage now? Does that mean you're doing w2w with the mustang or just added safety?

And thank you for the notice, but I have the bar already. Let me know about the Mishi though!

I have them, along with the splitter/air dam. Going on the car next weekend and will have the car out at Thunderhill next month. Stay tuned.

Do they mfr a direct replacement for a PP2 splitter?

You can set the wing to 0 AOA or possibly even slightly upward to add just a bit of rear end stability. Then when you're ready to add some serious downforce, you can adjust the AOA, add bigger end plates, or add bigger gurney flap and BAM...more aero with the same wing.
This 100%. My car came from previous owner with APR splitter, track spec louvers and Anderson GT350 spoiler. I had to pull the splitter for the time being to balance the car as the louvers alone are more than enough front downforce and the splitter was overkill.

At the moment I’m agonizing over which wing to purchase. Leaning toward Chicane23 but like the AJ series 12 too. I’m confident the wing will allow me to put the splitter back on the car and get the aero balanced but I’m also curious how much attack I’ll need in the rear wing to balance all that front downforce.

Those of you that are worried about the rub on the road would be best served with a vented hood that has a rain train that can be removed for track days. This is a better mod IMO because you get the downforce and cooler engine bay so it’s a double shot over a splitter.

Preparing for that. Not sure the 10speed can hold it tho.

Not only that, but for CAM classes an aftermarket spoiler is ok, but a wing of any type (if not fitted from factory) isn't allowed.
