What did you put down?
Before I ported the intake and got a flex dyno tune it was 456 on 93.
8 months later I got a flex dyno tune and made 460 on a 4gal e85 mix. Disappointed but my dyno pulls that day before the new tune were 448 instead of 456ish so the air wasn't good that day. So I'm most likely near 470 on a good day on that dyno. All tests were done on same dyno with same tuner.

You can buy a camaro, those hit damn near 500hp with common bolt-ons. Just saying
I have been a fan of Mustangs since I was 10 or less and have had them since I was 16. I would like to keep with the brand if possible.

She is a daily and will be getting so HSDE and AutoX use. My main focus is suspension but a little more kick would help.
Yeah, same here. That is why I lowered my expectations. I'm not willing to put cams in my engine and I seriously doubt I will ever remove my cylinder heads to have them ported as it is waaaaay to expensive for what you gain.

My plan is ported GT350 IM and TB, CAI, LT headers (already installed), and a tune. That should be good for high 400's, maybe 500 at the crank... maybe. But it is more than I got now and with a better suspension, I'll be putting it to the ground better.

You have a few options/outcomes:

1) All the available power bolts-ons and accept high 300's-low 400's RWHP.

2) Same as above + cams, ported heads and maybe approach mid 400's RWHP on 93? Probably won't be emissions legal without messing with CEL's. Lot of money for just another 50 or so RWHP; I don't like the return on investment but if you have the extra money then who cares.

3) Base Centrifugal unit with standard supplied tune, OPG, TG and get mid 500's RWHP. Maybe even a larger than supplied pulley to reduce boost and power. Might be cheaper than option 2 and wouldn't be a hindrance doing AutoX and would pass emissions. But yeah might be overkill for what you are wanting.

All of this is just my opinion. Good luck with the decision!
Option 3 is what I have been told is the best approach though for HPDE's, I have heard some have overheating problems. Maybe they are people who squeeze every ounce of power out of their system.

The issue I have with going with a base centrifugal build is that it adds weight where you could use a lot less weight. Not sure how much they weigh but I'm hearing that you need different springs in the front to compensate for the extra weight.

Not an expert on it but it is what I have read.

If you're dead set on staying NA just do the GT350 IM, TB, headers (going to need O2 spacers to keep readiness checks), PMAS or JLT and cams. Make what it makes, who cares if the dyno says 500whp? At that point the car will be running into the 120s in the 1/4 anyway.

They make about 410-415whp stock. op wants 500whp NA which will be more than just common bolt ons required and the $6000 premium the Camaro carries vs a comparable GT is the cost of a blower or a ton of NA mods including cams.

Meh... compared to the Mustang, I'd say it isn't that bad but I like the Mustang better. What cemented my decision was all the dang blind spots... holy crap that thing is a death trap with all the blind spots. And I have been a Chevy guy for many, many years (though, to be fair, it was always Corvettes).

But I digress. We are here to talk about MORE POWER

I'm on bored with NA power, but haven't really done anything yet. As most say you spend $2000 and end up with 450-460 HP.

I know I need it every time im at an event or the roadcourse track all is good in Mustang world till the straights and the car just get eaten alive!!

I'd say I better path would be weight reduction, our cars are FAT!!

The question was how to get to 500 na, after what has to be done to a mustang such as heads and cams the price difference is negligible. Go over to the camaro 6 forums, there are several members with bolt ons and e85 tunes that are very close to 500rwhp.

Now keep in mind I was just trying to be funny when I said get a camaro but it is easier to hit that number with one than a stang. That being said I will let this get back to topic

Aggressive Tune.. that should get you 450+whp. I'm not sure about cams because I haven't seen any HP benefits from them but they might get you a lot closer.
I did 431whp with Lund Tune, JLT CAI & LT Headers. I know dynos read different and it only matters how it performs so you might want to not only look at HP numbers, but handling/suspension.

If you replace the motor mounts, you can fit a CJ setup. Get it ported (guy on SVTP does a great job), run the monoblade and an intake, and you're on your way!

That setup + headers and a clutch made 460whp on my S197 and 470-475whp on my buddy's Boss. I picked up 40whp from cams (Comp Stage 3). The S550 should be closer to the Boss #s.

Oh, and don't run cats. If you have to, the green cats are awesome, but that setup is also ~$2400, which is crazy.

Final thing, cammed, I picked up 10whp from a catback.

A guy on here(dominant1) made just under 500whp through an auto with my setup plus cams with a JPC tune. That's 500whp in a manual
