I want the high revvjng n/a, as well, I just don't want to be the gunea pig though. Any takers?
Haha I mean the engines are pretty much the same from the 11-14, just would need a hood to clear the manifold (or motor mounts but idk about that route). I wouldn't expect any issues other wise though at least with the manifold.

The one thing I am worried about this generation GT is that it seems Ford is not going to want people swapping GT350 (at least the R) parts onto the other models. Will this gen GT get a boss or other performance car that has the 5.0 with improved pieces that we can buy and install ourselves? This may be even more apparent if the GT changes in some way for 2017+. At least for the intake manifolds anyways. If a nice looking hood comes out that gives more space then I will be very interested and doing a cobra jet build myself.

One thing I've noticed is how identical the GT350 manifold is to the current GT. Why do you think we couldn't use that?

From what I read most of the things on the 5.2 are different, but that is probably guessing at this point. I am going to assume most of the 5.2 will be different at this point, but if it is not, will the stuff that swaps lead to gains on the 5.0? Still too early in this cycle to know what will work/ what will be made, I am hoping for a huge aftermarket though :D

Im pretty sure they rebuilt the whole motor as per above and was much much more expensive than just supercharging by many times over to get that level of HP.

You can get 500 at the flywheel pretty easily; about 450 at the wheels. To get 500 at the wheels you will likely just want to go forced induction as anything else to get more HP N/A is going to be a lot more expensive (and above simple bolt ons) than a supercharger system. There's only so much out right now at least that will be a simple low-cost bolt on N/A HP- CAI/tune, headers w/exhaust, etc.

It seems currently with bolt-ons we are seeing 440-460 whp. That is without an upgraded intake manifold (designed for the new motor) and cams. With both of those I would think you can get pretty close to the 500whp mark. I would like to go this route as i want more power but I don't want to run the risk of FI for now. Cams are a long ways out, and maybe i'll wind up going FI before that point

I think you are right, I think someone said 40K for the build. That is a lot and way more than needed for the street.

I have seen most member results from bolt ons around 405-435rwhp. That is just north of 500 at the crank. For me it is different, if I am going to void the warranty, I want this thing to be a bit more. I would be good with the 462 at the wheels on pump gas 93. I think without e85 you are not going to get there without the cj manifold. I came to the Mustang world from a modded e92 m3. I loved the S65 screaming all the way to 8400rpm. I would be happy with my GT screaming to 75-7700. I think the cj is the way to go. Someone with some real knowledge on this, please tell me if this is a possibility. If so, my sky diving budget for the year might get a bit smaller.

This is only a dyno tune and mangaflow comp catback. 93 on a 4th gear pull. The dyno op was not aware at the time that 1:1 is fifth on the MT82.

I think cams, headers, and some fueling upgrades would put us at or around 500 rwhp on e85.

It's possible without cams. That dyno is also in std not sae so it's a little higher then the norm. As I said before guys are doing 480s with e85/race gas with full exhaust and cj on the s197 5.0 . Our heads and cams flow much more so weigh same mods we should be at or just under 500whp sae. Lots of people are making 450 sae with full exhaust intake and dyno tune on the new cars. My friend with 2014 same mods as me made 414 while I made 440 same day same dyno and tuner.

You guys are right on the money...CAI, tune, headers, CB will be in the 445-455 range for the most part. With an upgraded TB, intake, heads and cams on 93 500rwhp is as easy as Sunday morning! Driveability is the kicker...upgraded TB's and intakes crush your driveability on the street in most cases. The motor that we built for FR is an absolute MONSTER, but you could never have something like that on the street. Trust me, I made that mistake with my SN95. 625 NA was no fun at all unless I was driving the "speed limit" lol. I think that 500 NA on the S550 is totally attainable and more importantly streetable! We are quietly hard at work here. We purchased an A6 S550 to tear up the streets with...right now she is in teardown getting some go fast love STAY TUNED!

Good info! I'd like to see what you guys come up with. 500whp and driveability are definitely the goal. No point in having a street car if you can't drive it on the street.
