Is there a way to tell which gearing a S550 has? Currently looking at a super low mileage 2022 A10 Premium with the Recaros, active exhaust, and the optional 20 inch wheels. Any idea if a car with this package would be 3.10 or 3.55? Would the 3.10 be a deal breaker?

If it's a Performace Pack it definitely is 3:55. Otherwise the window sticker is the easiest bet. You can put the VIN into a place somewhere online and look up the window sticker I believe.

This one is not a PP car. Has some extras, but no PP. I don't have access to the window sticker. I do have the VIN, but unable to locate a VIN decoder that will provide a window sticker.

3.10 is hardly a deal breaker IMO. The A10 is geared aggressively anyway. If you add a Whipple down the line the last thing you’ll need is more gearing down low lol. 👍

Interesting. I have a 300A package. It’s as base as base can get, and it came with 3.55 gears. 6MT.

If I go to look at this car in person I will get a photo of the door jam. Thanks

I dont really do alot of power mods. Maybe a mild coilover setup and meatier tires down the road, but no time soon..... Is there much seat of the pants difference in a stock A10 3.10 vs 3.55?

You most likely would not notice the difference

It could be the 3.31, as well. In the end, it's not a big deal and the only thing it really changes is the 60 foot time. If you're drag racing, that's a big deal. If you're not, it's nothing. If you're doing a highway roll, then the A10 will find the right gear, regardless. It's got plenty of them.

Yeah the 6 speed PP cars are 3:73 and the auto is 3:55. Both with Torsen locker.

If you check it out in person you can see the tag on the differential that lists the gear ratio

There’s a window sticker thread in here too. If you send the guy your VIN, he’ll get your window sticker. 3.10 is standard in a non-PP auto, however, there is/was an option to add 3.55 gears without the PP (is not the Torsen I believe). If memory serves, I think if the car was ordered with the 20” wheels that also got 3.55 gears?

If it was optioned with the 20" wheels, the 3.55 gear is automatically ordered as well.
