The 16 GT Premium that got totaled has been replaced already but it looks like I will get rid of my other car and order a 17 GT Premium. My previous ride had stock 3.31 gears but I think I want to go with a 3.55 or 3.73 and need some input from the knowledgeable folks as to which is the best set up for all around performance? Don't see much regarding the 3.55's but I'm thinking they are a good choice.

You're going to have 2 GTs?

Auto? Manual? What will the car be used for? How do you drive?

No I will only have one GT. My 16 GT manual w/3.31 gears got totaled and was replaced with a 17 Dodge Daytona Charger 392. My other car I have will be sold and I'm ordering a Oxford White 17 GT Premium 6spd manual and will be a daily driver and I am leaning towards the 3.55's but don't want to rule out 3.73's if they are the best choice. Sorry for the confusion!

I mean do you want better highway economy, or when you put your foot to the floor do you want the acceleration to be more urgent? Its one or the other

If your wanting 3.73s it only going to be in the Performance Pack unless you wait for the 18 I think. If you're wanting to get into the power faster then 3.73.

3.73 is too much gear for the M6. 3.55 is slightly better. IMO. Really the 3.31 is a great gear for the manual.

Just like women and beer......everyone has an opinion. I have a '15 PP (3:73 gears) AND a supercharger and I have no issues with the short gearing.....to each his own.

3.55 is ideal for the auto from all the stuff I've read. 3.31 is great for the manual. If you go up to the 3.73s then obviously a lot of lower end bonus but your MPG will take a hit.

I've driven a 3.55 M6 when test driving and I thought it was perfect. I went 3.73 to get the performance package. I consider a switch almost weekly... but I've gotten used to the 3.73.

I actually liked the 3.31 especially being able to top out at almost 70 in 2nd gear, but I did think it was a little sluggish out of 1st so that's why I thought maybe 3.55 or 3.73. It looks like 3.31's or 3.55's since I don't want the performance pack

I think we're quite lucky here in Australia as we get the PP with 3.55 gears as standard.

3.73 was to short for me so I went with the 3.31. 3.31 is fine for a daily driver. When I punch it in 1st she pulls hard and it seems like I have to shift right away to 2nd. 1st gear on the 3.73 was useless to me and I'd probably skip it and start out in 2nd. Everybody is different so I suggest you go drive both. None of my local dealers had a 3.55 so I don't know.

Drive both, believe it or not these cars are heavy,na 373 get the car moving quick but quick gear changes.Im fi now and will probably change because i have plenty of power now to get going.its hardly any difference inbetween 373 and 355 gear ratio.

3.73 is nice for the power off the line but I think the 3.73 gears with the Mt82 is a lot of gear. 3.31 is nice for longer legs but the 5.0 does not have a lot of low end torque so it's nice to get up to the powerband quicker.
3.55 seems like it'd be a good compromise. But do you want the PP? Get the PP lol
