When going to the system overview it shows all the specifications. Android 8.1 T8 processor and 2GB Memory.
I think someone said they can set that in the software effectively lying about the software version I am not sure how to check it to make sure.

this looks and sounds promising. Read through the product description but am unsure if it has a built in GPS module? Could I run Waze on this thing? Thanks @Odox for answering questions.

Odox, I'd like to start a list of questions concerning this newer version of the 8.1 system.

Hopefully, you can answer most of these in one place for everyone else to see.

1. Boot up time?
2. Back up camera quality and function of lines, etc?
3. Stock Outside Air Temp reading? (sometimes found on the A/C screen)
4. GPS and Navigation/Google maps speed/glitchiness?
5. Radio reception better than stock?
6. Split Screen working, as in actual Android 8.1?
7. USB ports work with thumb drive music files?
8. All steering wheel buttons working?
9. Cell Phone address book/contacts works?
10. Synch Module Voice Activation working to make hands free phone calls, etc?

I'm sure this will help similar questions.

1. I timed about 25 seconds
2. The quality is a bit fuzzy because it is so enlarged, lines look fine.
3. I don't see any outside temp, even looking at other apps and with wifi.
4. GPS works but is a bit slow and takes time to load GUI.
5. Reception is good but i noticed it cant reach an AM station i listen to.
6. I have yet to discover a split screen function.
7. The USB drive is working for all USB media.
8. Steering wheel functions all work.
9. It is paired using the units Bluetooth and it uses its own interface, it has an address book but I don't see my contacts loaded in it.
10. I do not see any synch app that everyone is asking about but it does still pair to Synch and you can use it to take calls etc, just have to specify on the phone / device its on which Bluetooth to use.

Yes you just have to have WiFi and download from the Google Store.

I think the sync app is called phone-sync and is an orange icon. It has a gray background and mimics the sync menus from the factory 4" base system.

I finally got the weather to display, I may have had a weak LTE > WiFi signal on my phone I was using as a hotspot but it finally pulled data and displayed it on the top and as a widget on the home screen. This only worked while connected to WiFi and opening the default weather widget app (assuming it loads all the way, sometimes it crashes).

I think the split screen is stock in 8.0 makes me think they are lying about the version. From the pictures it looks exactly like my radio but I need to check my boot time.

On the top menu/task bar, isn't that 35 deg the cars own onboard outside air temp reading?

If so, was it preprogrammed to do that reading in Fahrenheit , or did you have to do something to put it there? Is it in Fahrenheit?

Boot time on the 2G 6.0 model is about the same. ~30s. The temp reading in the bar is only in C but pulls from the car instead of internet.

It's from a default weather application that came on the tablet. It needs WiFi to establish a connection to get the weather data. I did nothing but open the app while on WiFi to have it pull GPS and weather data. It is supposed to be their "fix" I guess but, without WiFi or opening the application it does not automatically display when starting up...

That's weird this one didn't have it at all. Does your color app work? To change the button illumination.

It's 35C in Chicago? That's 95 degrees Fahrenheit.

Wait, randy_tho says it's from the cars onboard temp sensor.

Odox says it's from some default weather app that needs wi-fi.

The 35 deg reading is different from the 34 deg weather widget below it on the screen.

Which is it? Is it from the internet, or from the onboard outside air temp sensor?
