I'm sorry!! For what it's worth I tried to get a sound clip but the damn house ac was on and made it impossible to hear the exhaust

So that little bit of rasp I mentioned... It is actually exhaust leaks around the ball joint collector flanges... Was able to hear it today on the drive to work. So I have to figure that one out now. Other then that there is a hint of drone around the 1700 RPM mark but nothing serious. Car is still trying to relearn its parameters so I took it easy this morning. Will have more to report this afternoon.

Ok so updates! Got home and tried to tighten up the exhaust collector flanges some more. It fixed one leak and about 70% of the other. So there is still an exhaust leak... I have some high temp gasket material on the way to create some collector gaskets. That should solve the problem. The car has almost tuned itself. There is a weird stutter around 3K under certain acceleration conditions. I am hoping this will smooth out over the week or when I fix the leak but we shall see. Until then some pics and a sound clip!! Better pictures of the entire setup will come this weekend. A better sound clip will come this weekend as well.

Please note: Use headphones and know that the rattle is from the camera and not the car. Also be aware that there is still an exhaust leak.

Very interesting sound, I dig it! Supremely boomy but it has a nice purr on the way down.

It was actually to loud for my camera to handle. I need to have my camera man step back a bit for the next one to capture better audio!

Finally starting to feel some power gains! Low end I don't think has been effected at all. I dare say the system might have increased low end performance. Hard to tell though as it could just be a placebo effect... Moral of the story is that I have not witnessed a decrease in low end like what has been reported with the 11-14's. Top end (3k and up) have seen some significant power gains. This this really pulls above 3k now.

At first I saw a drastic drop in mileage but now that the PCM is relearning how to run without cats mileage has improved and is about normal now. Still have that exhaust leak to fix so that should further help performance and mileage. Will keep everyone updated!

So guys I got some updated sound clips that I am working on uploading tonight! I have successfully fixed the exhaust leak and tweaked a few things in terms of alignment. Sorry for the picture quality but it is quite hard to get pictures when the car is only 2 ft off the ground. As you can sort of see the exhaust is nice and tucked up in the trans tunnel for good ground clearance. I also added a pair of flex pipe sections to the mid pipe to help relieve some of the stress placed on the ball joint connections.

I have come to the funny realization though... I have hit the stock tune limit... With my CAI and exhaust I think I have surpassed the point where the stock tune can adjust itself. This is why I have my 3k stutter. I removed my CAI and throttle body spacer today and reset the PCM to find that the stutter is almost non existent now (haven't driven it enough for it to adjust to the new conditions quite yet) Never the less the stutter is significantly decreased. I think my next mod now is going to have to be a tune so I can keep my CAI.

Looks good. How did you fix the leak? And yes you probably need a tune for sure.

I used this material: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000BWAPHA/ref=yo_ii_img

I created two doughnut shaped gaskets and placed them in the socket side of the ball joint connection. Tightend down on the flanges and they are now sandwiched between the ball and socket.

I was hoping to avoid a tune but I guess there is only so much you can do with the stock tune. I'm thinking about going with Torrie from Unleashed for the tuning.

Haha yea that is the only downside! Though I think the long tube headers and catless exhaust already did that for me so what the hell why not! Need to get my muffler delete sold first though.

Well I think the car is running lean.... Even with the OEM intake I have the stutter at 3k. Mind you it is much better then it was with the CAI but it is still there. At 3k I believe the engine is starving for fuel and or the knock sensors are kicking in (because the car is running lean = greater chance of detonation) so a tune is at must if you plan on going catless and long tubes. I hopefully will be getting that soon!
