I've got an Explorer ST as well. They'll scoot!
Definitely, the Aviator is an ST in a tuxedo and I love it.

I bought a 2026 ST Explorer for my wife after some idiot side swiped her Audi Q7, nice rides for sure. I daily a 2013 Taurus SHO, she really gets down the road. But if I want to scare myself, it's the S550.

I just ordered new fuel injectors, Ford performance LU47 $373.00. I used my Mucar scanner and did an engine balance test and had spikes on 1,4,6,8 cylinders so I am replacing all 8 injectors.

We got a 2020 Explorer ST on Ford 0%. We just paid it off. Though it was its first year, and in spite of a few recalls, it has been overall trouble free.

In hindsight, I wish we had spent the $61k on the luxury trim model (Platinum) instead of performance (ST). I think the Aviator would have been a ~$15k upcharge.

It is primarily wifey's car and she really likes it.

Correct - Dark Horse Spoiler.

Install - removing the OEM wasn't difficult. Some painters tape around the OEM wing then fishing line and then a 3M stripe off wheel (drill) made quick work of the leftover adhesive. I did use the stock wing OEM studs with some blue Loctite. What I didn't do was drill holes in the trunk lid for the two additional attachment points. I used 3M tape on the outer edges Instead of the "felt" type strips that came with the spoiler/wing. Will it hold at 180+mph - we might just see at the Texas Mile. Does it hold at 120mph.. Magic 8-ball says - absolutely.

(Yesterday)

Six year service & inspection time.

I did manage to get there before it rained, and only on mildly damp roads :

Inspection means the front plate was 'attached' :

'Unfortunately' it fell off again just before the drive home and as a bonus, the roads had dried again by that time ... lol

Funny that sat in the showroom drinking tea, separated by the reception and offices, it was still obvious when they started it up in the workshop and put it on the rollers :

No problems with either the service or the inspection.

It's never good to get a problem, but two weeks before your pre booked service is probably the best time for one to arrive - and also a very easy fix whilst it was up in the air :

Oh, would you look at that …

The poor quality photos are because I have taken snapshots from the inspection video :like:

Back story :

I got the flapping noise …

Mine would start at about 25 mph, and be audible up to about 35 mph.

It would come back when the speed dropped, if I hadn’t driven β€˜fast’.

If I had driven β€˜fast’, it wouldn’t come back until the car had sat for a while.

I think if you drive fast enough, the label temporarily folds itself back due to centrifugal force, and stays put for a while - only relaxing back to its flappy state given a bit of time.

I kept my fingers crossed.

Service time today, so I mentioned it to my tech.

He smiled (seen it before).

He sent me the video.

It’s now removed, and back to being nice and quiet :like:

If it happens and until its been confirmed as the problem, it's A) very annoying, and B) slightly concerning ... lol

One last question, which one did you buy, I see a lot of options, Steeda EOS for a couple hundred dollars, MP Concepts mid-$200’s and then some on American Muscle with no brand for lower $200’s - Im looking for a Matte finish also. Thanks

No worries at all.
