Dark Horse SC, who's adding one, who's replacing with one, what will it do to GT500 values?

The GT500 was/is a pretty compelling alternative to several Porsches and Corvettes, among others. The pricing, less ADM, was right there.

The DHSC, not so much. For that money, it's P-car all the way for me.

I don’t disagree with this, but I’m bett’n that top package jump is the carbon ceramic brakes for the most part. Haven’t paid attention to what that pakcage bump is on the C8 for reference. Do have a buddy in the Phoenix area that was talking to dealers he buys work trucks from in th LA market and they both told him they were going to be around 200k for one, and that wasn’t a fully optioned car. They’re smoking thengood stuff evidently before hitt’n the lot.
Just looking it up now, the Z07 Carbon fiber wheel and brake package is about 18K. The DH SC Track pack is basically Z07 money and I know it's N/A and makes less power but the LT6 is a better motor imho. Ford could never get the 5.2 to make 670hp N/A on 91 octane while passing current smog. Will the DH SC even be faster than the Z06?

Better looking car (subjective), Better Named Car (Subjective), Lighter car (Objective), Similar performance (Still TBD but will be objective).

So for those who want all the things the GT500 had to offer, but thought they'd wait for something better, the something "better" isn't all that much better and costs 30-50K more, so they'll shop GT500, which will add demand, and the prices will go up.

Or think of it conversely, if an equivalent DHSC was the within 10K of a GT500 when new (which is what the low miles ones are typically still commanding), why would you buy the GT500? But now that the step is 30-50K, the GT500 looks like a bargain.
Where did they announce the weight? All I see is "150 lbs lighter". Good potential I missed it, but if it's 150 lbs lighter, I'd like to know relative to what.

There is still potential this thing is less weight than the current 500. I'm not holding my breath, but having an aluminum subframe and all aluminum suspension bits, along with the wheels and brakes, I could see it being lighter.

I do love how Ford holds back all the info actual enthusiasts want.

Well, for me the pricing (if true) has pushed me over the edge to the C8. I was already looking at the Z06, going to wait to see what the Grand Sport brings to the table and make a decision.

True, weight not released, I was going on the fact that the S650 is heaver than the S550, didn't realize they were changing subframe materials on the DHSC version. I thought the only weight savings was if you sprung for the CCBs, which I wouldn't want.

nobody has any confirmation on this, I would bet they are reusing the GT500 subframes. Perhaps new control arms, but not subframes.

I went back through documentation I could find. Far as I could see, it says swapping steel for alum susp components. Didn't see anything about subframes.

But that could/would be significant, if true. And help explain the 34% increase in base and 46% increase in CFTP prices, over a 22.

The ZR1 uses the 8 speed

ford would have to spend money getting the new powertrain emissions certified etc
‘then ford can use the 8 speed. And they can get the powertrain certified like they always do in these scenarios.

They've said aluminum suspension components. Since the subframe is part of the suspension, I'm hopeful that the subframe is aluminum too. But I'm not holding my breath.

But based on past Ford history, the 150 lbs is CCBs and wheels, and the savings is over the base DHSC. Which will be north of 4200 lbs.

I like to stay positive.

I like to disassemble things.
There were suspension links that Ford changed to forged aluminum from steel. There will be no aluminum subframe.

Pretty sure same happened when GT500 came out. Couple susp links went alum, but nothing super crazy for weight savings.........

Horse Power should be between 760-815 HP

This was posted on another forum, but Ford hasn't officially released the prices.

Snoop, that is now the 769th time we've seen that.

That pricing was shared by Ford to the dealer network across the country. It is 100% bonafide. Is it highly detailed? No, that'll come as more information is released.

What, are telling me that I alone was not the first to discover the Holy Grail?

I can't wait to see the price list and the available options. To bad Ford is no longer doing brochures. You would think that they would at least produce a download version of a brochure.

It will be interesting to see when the car is added to the website so you can build one on line. That probably won't happen until after the order bank opens.
