Yeah, and many people using it haven't had a problem. Still though, the design does not inspire confidence. Hanging that much weight, and the additional leverage that it provides out further from the end of the bearing just doesn't make sense. The stage 2 kit should be an 8 rib conversion, not an add-on piece that introduces way more stress on the snout.
Mine is an 8 rib. All the info I researched before install was about 50/50 for and against crank support. I would recommend installing it just for peace of mind.

Any other info? Race everyday? Never raced? 2step? Intersection takeover donuts? Failed while driving sitting in driveway with engine off?
It's a normal street registered car. I race it several times a year. It's run 9.8 in the 1/4. The day before it broke I won a roll racing event with no drama. The next day, doing a 1/4 mile pass she snapped half way down the strip.

Lund tuned my car back in the fall of 2018 when their services were still being bundled with Beefcake's blower packages. I have no complaints about how the process went. It was smooth and easy. Car is reliable, makes good power(I haven't dynoed it).

It's been a lot of years though and I've not changed anything. I opened a ticked last year asking about E85 fuel systems, and they were really helpful through that channel, I have yet to take any action on that though as far as installing anything new. For now I can't particularly say anything bad about them. Flores has always been a mouthy loose cannon, so I don't really care about that.

Just the blower belt is an 8 rib, that uses the crankshaft balancer extension. I meant that they should have provided a complete 8 rib conversion to the entire belt system, so that the primary belt is 8 rib, an no extensions are needed.

"My buddy had issues with his Lund tune on his ESS Gen 2 car, switched to Wengerd and has 0 issues now. Alex Flores was the original tuner." - I also have a gen 2 ESS car. Went ESS based on a Lund recommendation (Nardi I think). Had a problem during the process that had me pulling my hair out (no power steering). My tuner (Alex) assured me that it was not the tune, which I honestly did not believe. To their credit though (Lund) Alex was right. I had a high voltage event on my car as I had a booster charger on it because it was -10 to -25 in my garage during my winter install and flash. In the end 30 minutes with my mechanic(crank relearn and what not) had everything working perfectly. I love this car, driveability is perfect, the kit, the power delivery all great. I'm not a drag racer but I end up in rolls on the highway more than I intend to. I've had a track day (HPR) and the car was a beast. In total I had a base tune and a logging "homework" session into the final revision. No one with Lund's volume will get it right every time, but I am very happy with their work on my car.

I’ve had nothing but great service From Lund, and specifically from Alex. I met Alex at Texas 2k4, and he was pretty cool to chat with, and took time away from working on the grey goose.
With that being said Terry( beefcake) has treated me very well and so has Kelly.

fwiw, I’ll reserve my judgement to my personal experiences and keep it at that.

But I also understand we all can’t get along with everybody.

My 19’ Whipple GT was Lund Tuned, no issues. My 23’ Hellion TT GT is also tuned by them and runs great no complaints. Still only on 7lbs wastegates and E85, but it has gone 5.5 sec 60-130mph. Slow in the race world, but fast enough for me (for now).

We’re spoiled to have many options for tuning so as others have mentioned before, it’s hard to go wrong with a boosted Coyote.

Curious for the people like this who say no issues, have you ever had a tune from another company on this car to feel the difference?

I did inquire about tuning with Rob Shoemaker when I was FBO CJ Cams on my 23’ but the fact that even before I purchased anything he’d take days if not weeks to respond made me not jump ship. Lund will respond within 3-4 hours. The only reason I considered Rob over Lund at the time was because supposedly his cars went faster 60–130 in the NA world.

If all you care about is response time you should shoot Wengerd an email sometime, he'll respond before it even sends

Does anyone really think the fastest cars are because of the tuner and not because of the builder and setup of the car?
If the setup is the same (mods, race weight, transmission, and gearing) then yes the tuner can make a difference.
