Had an idle issue, so I thought I’d clean the MAF sensor and TB. (Since this is the first time working on it. I had to take reference pics to make sure I put everything back together) 😁

Come to find out, there was a torn grommet on the CAI tube. Swapped it out, cleaned the sensor & TB. It idles and runs so much better.

Had the coil pack fail on Cyl 7 yesterday, so popped in a new OE coil and did a crank relearn (misfire neutral profile relearn) with Forscan. Car runs better than ever, so the coil must have been on its way out for a bit.

Also, all my previous fun cars have been import cars, so it's super convenient to be able to buy OE parts from a parts store. It was even cheaper than from the dealer to boot ($62 from AutoZone).

Battery died this morning. I completely forgot what a PITA it is to get the battery out of the enclosure.

Pretty much applies to most cars.

Washed the car up and went down to Virginia in the blue ridge mountains over memorial weekend. Great time.

Car goes back in the shop next week to replace passenger rear Steeda camber arm bushing that went out….

Brake fluid flush and clutch bleed at ~46k.

Fluid was pretty bad.

Fun fact, the thread pitch on the master cylinder on my 2016 is the same as my 2018 GTI was so I could use my VW power bleeder.

My fluid looked like this before I put in Castrol SRF last year. This year when I did it again, I realized I didn't flush the rear enough because the back brakes had pretty dark fluid coming out. If I had to do it again, I'd def send another 1/4-1/2 bottle through the rears.

For context, I swap w/new Castrol SRF every year since I started going to the track. Cheap insurance.
