OEM Catted prior to headers ?
Yes… from stock headers cats to kooks O/R longtubes into stock resonator/catback.

Headers were 1100… if you don’t think 1100 is worth it for 4MPH… we’re not gonna agree on anything 🤣

Those are good MPH gains for O/R headers! 10R80 car? Mine is an MT82-D4 car and I didn’t pick up that kind of MPH with a similar setup and an E85 tune. I’ve only seen about a 1.5 MPH gain. Those 10R80 cars are a different animal though. I can see that being a possibility with that transmission.

I bought a set of SW used. The shop that removed them retuned the car that they were on. Dyno before and after showed 18hp loss by removing them. I dont remember the TQ but can find out.

So I’m deciding if long tube headers are worth the price N/A ? For the price of headers and having a shop install I can get my car wrapped a different color… I do like how they make the car louder and a little HP. Do you guys think it’s worth the price ? Or spend it elsewhere ?
Well if you can get it wrapped for the same price as headers something is wrong with the wrap because it takes about 2500-5000k for a good wrap and heads only cost about 1K-1500 installed I installed 2m fabrications headers on mine cheaper and good fitment, so do your homework, but it's your money and think of your end goals!!!

Dyno before and after showed 18hp loss by removing them.
Be nice to see both dyno graphs. The area under the curve is where performance comes from, not peak numbers.

National Speed showed 29 peak hp adding Stainless Power longtubes with highflow cats to a intake/tune car



Decide for yourself if that is worth $1500 (and possibly installation costs). You'll of course make more power if you have more mods.

Of course they’re going to show favorable dyno results and use STD instead of sae, with no mention of time/humidity/temp etc.

I’m more interested in dyno runs made by individuals. Most I’ve seen is like 10-15 and that’s mostly just a shift in peak power, area under curve was a far smaller difference.

They are just showing the difference between every mod on the way to FBO. The actual numbers or weather conditions don't matter since it's all the same car done in the same time.

Why would you think there is just a shift in peak power? They are going to make power everywhere.

So it's going to be different in this engine vs headers on every other engine? Are you going to say something like longtubes lose low end torque or another myth next?

Very similar to other dyno results from people that install headers. Picks up a couple tenths at the track which goes along with the gain.

Trouble is finding results where it's just a header change. Not intake/e85/tune/etc at the same time.

Also, if they were just trying to sell parts why would they have shown the ported intake and ported TB being next to useless?
