I have a 2016 GT and I’m debating on which longtube headers to get. I’ve seen a set of 2m fab headers in marketplace for a deal and I might get them along with some adjustable engine mounts, are there any issues with installing them, and how hard was the install?

First question is why? Other than you want them, WHY do you want them? Long tube headers aren't the hardest thing to do to these cars, but if you are doing them in your driveway/garage with no lift, it certainly ain't easy, and the benefits aren't great until you are waaaay above the numbers that an NA car is capable of. Take what I say with the understanding of, yes I have LTH's and did them on my back in a buddies driveway. I also have a relatively custom side exit exhaust which made the final step of hooking up to the "stock" existing exhaust much harder, but it wasn't a fun experience.

I just pulled the 2M long tubes off my 16 GT

It also has a Corsa Extreme exhaust on it and let me tell you, it was loud. Pretty sure i was the loudest thing around my area anyway.

And dont get me wrong...wake up the graveyard was fun for a while. But just got old...and I dont even daily this car.

As mentioned before...if you are adding them to support a supercharger then thats one thing. I didn't notice that much gain from them even with a decent tune.

But if you are still thinking you need them...install isnt terrible. It isnt cake walk either...but I do have a lift which definitely makes it easier

Here's a link to CJ Pony parts install vid. Good to watch prior to starting.

I would do literally EVERYTHING else before doing headers. The juice isn't worth the squeeze until you are at the point where you are trying to wring every last horsepower you can get. The stock headers on these cars are that good.

I just saw @beefcake is running a Memorial Sale with a 20% (?) off Stainless Works Headers. Maybe Terry can confirm the discount.

Do headers, if you don't like how loud it is put a resonator or add more muffler.

The 2m headers fit okay. Mine are very tight against the steering shaft (shaft running from the steering wheel to the steering rack). I had a bad motor mount and had to replace it so the header didn't hit the steering shaft. I used the bmr adjustable motor mounts as replacements.

I have heard of some people having clearance issues with the passenger-side body.

If you are broke like me then it should be fine. I will warn you headers are a pain in the ass to install. You will need a good set of wrenches (you can't fit a socket on 90% of the bolts). Also, buy new factory exhaust gaskets. I would also recommend you buy the kooks locking header bolts so you don't have to worry about re-tightening the bolts. I would also remove all the studs and replace them with bolts (from the factory the exhaust manifold is held on by studs and nuts).

The game plan is the 2m headers, I found some for a absolute steal of a deal,

I currently have the stock headers with no cats, MBRP H pipe, and there back if from a active exhaust with the valves held open

Car should sound pretty good.

I have a 2015 car with the 2m catless headers, mbrp h-pipe, and mbrp street cat-back. Sounds good, loud but not too loud.

Before buying my headers I asked three local installers and all three said NOT the 2M. I ended up with the Stainless Power and had them coated. They sound awesome with my stock active exhaust. Headers are louder for sure but I have an ESS s/c waiting to go on. I will replace the cats with some resonators when it goes on. I'm loving them so far.
