Guy bought 2 of them each for 50k over. Didn't bat an eye.
I’m not surprised. There was one in the showroom when I ordered my GT. Had just come in the day before. It was gone 2 days later. Had a similar $50k market adjustment if I recall.

I would reconsider whether the GF is a good influence in your life. Sounds like a problem to me. If she cares about you and wants you to be happy, she should realize that cars are important to you. If you don't care, that's another thing, but I wouldn't stay with someone that wanted to tell me I can't go out and buy a car. Whenever. I. Decide.
Of course, I let her say it. She can say about anything she wants. But I can do whatever I want, and she knows it.

I like Corvettes, pretty much every generation (except maybe the C4). I would seriously consider a new Z06 today if something happened to my GT4 or I otherwise wanted a new track car. The new C8 is great, and like all Vettes before it, it's an incredible performance bargain.

... Having said all that, aside from obviously being faster than the Mach 1, I'm really not sure a base C8 will be better in any meaningful way. The Mach 1 will likely be more engaging, sound marginally better, be more comfortable and practical, likely be more reliable based on what I've heard about that brand new DCT...

OK, the Vette will also be a bit rarer of a sight and likely have more curb appeal/prestige if that is important to you, too.

Just an FYI for anyone considering this, The FP700 package is available on any cab and bed configuration ford sells, you just have to get it with a coyote. Meaning you can get a 2wd reg cab short bed XL all the way up to a King ranch or platinum crew cab and anything in between.
This, was eyeballing the FP700 details this weekend.

Kicking myself for not seeing the future when I bought my '19 RCSB 4X4. Granted, I've thought about Whippling the '19 several times now, but that FP700 package is pretty sweet. And 4WD can be had.

I will disagree with you there. I see C8’s pretty frequently around here and there have been a ton of them produced so far (last I saw was over 100k so far, Jay Leno had their chief engineer on for the E-Ray and he quoted a number well over 100k but I don’t recall the exact number). Total Mach 1 production for S550 isn’t even close to one production year for the C8. The Mach 1 is the more rare car by a mile

Am I crazy? Looked at the Dark Horse. What a price increase for not much of an upgrade. Mach 1 was my first new sports car. (Had a 1972 Vette 10yrs ago). Did not consider the C-8 because of ease of entry and onboard storage issues. I love the Mach after 18 months and 8000 wonderful miles, but I am feeling the itch. Not much time for me to enjoy crazy wild cars in my life.

Don't sell yourself short. I'm 78 and driving a Roush charged, heavily modified S550 daily.

Mach 1s are definitely rarer than C8s, however, Mustangs as a whole are more common than C8s. And a Mach 1 just kind of looks like a Mustang or Mustang GT to most people. Mustang GTs, while cool, are a dime a dozen where I live.

That’s fair. EB & GT are plentiful around here also, with EB the most common

The Corvette would appeal to me more if they had just left the body style alone and not turned it into a super car wannabe....

This is a difficult decision but if it's one that will make you happy and NOT the guy in the next lane then its your call! Is it about stepping up to a more prestigious car? Don't get me wrong, I do like Corvettes having owned 9 including a brand new 2019 GS, which I sold after 8 months because I wanted a Bullitt (my 4th with various years) The C7 was an Awesome car, and a stunning design; but I've also had about 10 Mustangs including my current 19 Bullitt, so I like Mustangs too.

I have thrown the thought on a C8 but for this particular model (C8) it just doesn't seem dare I say, beautiful? The proportions seem to be fighting the design; with the front half looking nice but the back end quite ugly (IMO). The base model includes a lot but also deletes a lot. I would recommend at the least a 2LT. Then you have to add Mag ride, standard on your Mach 1 would be extra; along with the performance Z51 package. One of the things I hated about my 19 GS was it seemed to "scrape" everywhere I went. So maybe front end lift option on the C8 would remedy that issue. (another optional cost of course).

In the end, it's your call. Personally I think the current Mustang generation is just a better looking car than the C8. The only thing I'd consider over my Bullitt, or a Mach if I had one, would be a Porsche 911. (used of course!) In my mind, I've always considered them the German version of a Mustang, within limits of course!

Well I just got my answer +5,000 ADM for a C-8 order. I guess dealers do not make enough on other add ons. I am inclined to say no.

Plenty of places will order and sell for MSRP.
