Last year I almost traded my 2019 GT/CS on a new 2024 C8 it was going to cost me $40k more
I decided to spend $20 grand and put a Shelby super snake Whipple, Cervini Ram Air hood painted Kona blue top and bottom
New Shelby rims 9.5 & 11” and Conti Extreme sport 2 275/35R20 & 305/35R20
Cost me $18k and now I have a unique Mustang vs a dime a dozen C8
Now a Z06 would of been another decision but way out of my price line

Personally, I think the C8 is not a very good looking design. In fact I think it’s weird looking.
I agree and feel the same way about a lot of exotic supercars. The side view is wonky, looks kinda like a javelina.

You can be a working person and drive a Porsche. It‘s about priorities. May not be a brand new one, but definitely attainable. Same as a GT500….Me, I’m a quality freak, so Porsche really does that well. They sell like hotcakes on Carvana.

I was in the same boat a while back when I had the GT350. My issue was that the base Vette looked like an exotic but sounded like any other muscle car and I couldn't square the two. Now the ZO6, on the other hand, sounds like it looks and seems pretty fantastic but there's a lot of extra $$ needed there and I just didn't think it was special enough to justify the expenditure.
Plus with all the Vettes out there today, I don't see them getting any special attention, not nearly what my Shelby did when I stopped for gas, coffee, groceries, or anything else, and I'm a little embarrassed to admit, that's what I might miss the most.
I bought my 2016 GT-350 from a used car dealership where it was traded for a C8 corvette.

So.... I'm on my 3rd 5.0 powered Mustang in 7 years. Currently sporting a 2022 Mach 1 HP. FJG. I enjoy it. I really like the muscle car feel/vibe of the Mach. But, starting to look at the C8 Corvettes. Looking being the internet, Carfax etc. Thinking it's time to change it up a bit. What do you all think? Is the C8 in your opinion(s) worth going after or should I just be grateful I own what I own?
honestly, by now, jusget the c8. Youre a Mustang loyalist and it probably feels weird to get a Vette. But I think you’ll enjoy it. You can always go back to Mustang if you want.
in nothing else, the c8 will expand your horizons a bit and give you some insight on how to view things in the grand scheme.

I’m logging in for the first time in a while after purchasing my Mach 1 off of this forum to give you my two cents on this. I had a 2023 C8 with the Z51 package. It is insanely fast. 0-60 in 2.95 seconds. It handles markedly better in comparison to my Mach 1. The C8 is “very” uncomfortable as a daily driver and I felt like I was sitting on the floor. Getting in and out of the car was a chore. You have to kind of fall in, and roll out. Most importantly, the visibility was absolutely DEPLORABLE. I mean, the worst out of the last 60 cars or so. There was no getting around that, and this is why I ultimately sold it. This was also taking into consideration aftermarket wide view side mirrors, as well as the LED rearview mirror. So my call would be no, stick with your Mach 1. It’s much more comfortable as a DD and much more practical.

My only issue right now with the M1 is the front clearance, I’ve been reading up on that, but if I’m not able to resolve it, I will be moving on to something else. Good luck to you. ☮

The C8 is a superb offering from GM. It’s the whole car. However, the Mach 1, like the GT350(R) is just too special. The Gen 3 Coyote and the TR-3160 is just too good of a match IMO.

A legit C8 Z06 or maybe the upcoming C8 GS might make it a tougher choice.

I think while the C8 will be faster, it just won't be as special or fun.

I had a C6 and a C7 Corvette and now I have a 2023 Mach 1, they are different animals. It will def be a change. To me a Corvette drives and feels really different from a Mach 1 or any mustang. It is lighter and faster plus lower to the ground. Go and drive one and that way you can feel the difference. Your field of vision is changed too. I like both both but in their own way.
I wouldn’t, the C8 in my opinion is GM trying to be what it isn’t. Besides don’t care for the looks either.

Well, the Ford GT40 Mkll was evidence of Ford trying to be something that it never had been, and look where that got us. I’m just sayin’.
Still don’t like the C8 much.
cheers

I suppose it really depends on your budget but I would not trade my MACH1 for a C8, but could probably be swayed to trade up for a CT5-V Blackwing. All the Muscle car feels, manual transmission, more functional than a Mustang, plenty fast, and can be optioned with the precision package if you spend any time on a track.

I like the C8, (especially the Z06) but the cost for such a limited use-case vehicle is a deterrent.
If I had a 10 car garage, and the funds to fill it, a Z06 would be in there for sure.

Regarding track use, I am not sure a base C8 is "better" at the track. On paper, yes, it should be. However, I have yet to give a point by to any C8 that is not a Z06. All of the drivers say the same thing about the C8.......too many nannies that can not be turned off. They say it takes a lot out of the car in both performance and feel.

Personally, I would keep your Mach 1. Just turn off the collision alert, put it in track mode, and go.
