I am a bit claustrophobic, so I need some room around me and to sit up higher. Similar to the Camara, the Corvette C8 just felt too much like a coffin to me.
Great car and engineering from Chevy, especially the Z06 with the FPC engine.
But the one thing I've heard over and over is that the driving experience is not very engaging which was the biggest thing for me.
I personally love the looks of the previous gen c7 vs the "super car" look of the C8
If you can test drive one the majority of your questions would probably be answered.

I know this is not a popular opinion on this Mustang forum, but I sold my 2018 GT350 at the height of the pandemic for a $13K profit. I was not driving the car, and the soaring used car prices was too good to pass up. I sat on the sidelines for about 18 months and then, bought a new 2023 C8 Z51 2LT before the Z06 or E-Ray were announced.

As others have said, they are totally different cars, and while I do miss rowing the gears and the sounds of the VooDoo, the C8 has grown on me. The C8 is faster and more refined than the GT350 and the driving experience has been good. You will quickly get used to the lower driving position and I have never had issues getting in and out of my car. Trunk space is limited, but my wife and I have taken several trips and our normal luggage fits for a typical 3-4 day weekend.

I swapped out the C8 exhaust for a Borla S-Type, and the car sounds way better than the factory NPP, but still not as awesome as the FPC. The 2LT trim has the camera mirror, so the rear visibility is better than the GT350. I had owned several Corvettes and Vipers over the years, and the GT350 was my first Mustang, so the transition back to an American two-seater sports car was not that drastic for me.

I may opt for a GT500 in the future, but for now, I think the C8 is a viable alternative you should consider.

Nice, 2LT should have heads up display too, that is something I miss going from a C7 to my Mach 1. Borla and Corsa sound good on Corvette's. When I had my C7 I fell into the seat to get in and fell out to get out, lol.

What C8 are we talking? Base stingray? Nah, i wouldn't do it because I love to row my own gears. Z06 or eRay? Yeah, I would do it. Make sure you get some white New Balance and Jorts when you pick up the new C8!

The C8 doesn't even sound like a V8. If you like V8s, what the point? I think Chevy totally missed with the C8.

the C8 is my attainable dream car (I was the kid in the 80s with the lamborghini on the wall) so it just has that mid-engine aspect that the Mach 1 doesn't have. Due to kids in/starting college I am not quite there yet. I will say that the transmission maintenance and issues do give me pause on it though. They did a poor job of engineering the access to that transmission filter/drain/fill. The work arounds are there but require mods. Hoping C9 might change that, but I think part of it was purposeful difficulty.
