Here's my 2 cents. I'm probably going to upset some 350 owners and some M1 owners.

I got my 350 back in early 2018. For the first 6 months or so, people still lost their minds even though the 350 had been out for a bit. Everywhere. At meets, gas stations, everywhere. After that, it was honestly old news. The ONLY comments I got after that were related to me having my toddler seat in the back. No one cared. Even when I moved and was new in town, no difference.

This past saturday, first meet I went to in a while, our 220K population town had 6 mach 1s, 3 of which were HPs. 5 of which, were fighter jet gray. The comments I get now are "didn't know they made a new mach 1", and "man, love that color". Aside from that...it's also old news.

It happens. Next summer, the dark horse will be old news. The M2 will be old news. You should have something you enjoy looking at, working on, or driving. Not owning something for clout or bragging rights.

Eventually I’ll be moving out of this frozen hell hole. The Cobra is nice but other than straight line speed the GT350 is better in every other aspect every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

They both will always have a special spot for me. I never owned the cobra, but it was the big dog when I was a teen, and my buddy had a yellow, 550whp one that was bonkers.

They are nice … For what they are. You have to get one for the right reasons. You have to want that unrefined raw feel, cable driven clutch , cable throttle. Low tech built into it. I’m not bashing them but that’s what they are and what they offer as a platform. Mine may potentially be sold I’ll find out soon but compared to the GT350 there is no comparison, or even to modem day Mustangs. If you want tech and refinement you won’t find it in a Terminator, but If you want to build one have gobs of rip your face off power and torque with its other characteristics then that’s your ticket

This is one of the reasons I don't go to car shows. I LOOOVE cars and seeing them, but with their owners planted there in a lawn chair, it just feels like weird oggling, to be quite honest and tad awkward.

I know the Bullitts aren't really that rare and most people don't care what they are, but that's what I went for. A nice fun daily that isn't super loud (well except the stock exhaust which I fell in love with).

To each their own, but for me the level of attention I get (or rather don't get) is perfect.

Bullitts are great. I agree 100%. While I like car shows, I’m usually not there for more than an hour. I go to see some cars, talk to some down to earth folks who just love cars and leave. It gets awkward for sure, with Corvette people usually are the oldest and weirdest for some reason.

We are the classic example of the forgotten middle child.

After 18 months of ownership, a trend has emerged, at least in Western PA.

GT350 and 500 guys tend to look down on us because, well, we're not them.

GT and EB guys snub us because they think we are rich kids who can afford a nice car.

Every car show I go to, the only people who come to check out the car and lower themselves to actually talk about it are guys who at one time thought about buying one.

Was at a show today and everyone ogled the orange 1969 Chevy Nova next to me but 5-6 people asked about the M1 and almost all said they had thought about buying one. The winner for the "Modern Muscle" class was a 2014 Challenger with an engine cover that had a picture of a Coyote waving a white flag. A guy came over and asked me about the Challenger and I said just point us to the nearest twisty road.

BTW 18 mos and still have only seen 1 other in person, Cyber Orange 2022 last fall. If nothing else we are rare.

I've had the same exact experience with my Bullitt at a bunch of cars and coffee and shows. Very few people recognize it for what it is.

Every once in a while someone will say oh a Bullitt. Same with my 912. Only TRUE enthusiastas get it and that's fine by me

Damn. I wish you guys WOULD take your Bullitts to shows. I mentioned only ever seeing one Mach in person? That’s one more than the number of Bullitts I’ve seen. It’s like trying to get an up-close experience with Sasquatch.

For the money, you'd get a used GT350, huh? That's exactly what I thought I was going to do too, but let me tell you something. I bought my used '22 Mach 1 just a few weeks ago at the asking price of $57,988 and it had only 688 miles on the odometer during my test drive. I get the remainder of the factory bumper-to-bumper warranty, which on the day of purchase was either 33 months or 35,312 miles. I got a vehicle that is crazy fast, has a bulletproof powerplant and drivetrain, has all the modern tech/safety features Ford ever put in the S550 chassis, has countless parts from the GT350/GT500, and has proven to be pretty much just as fast around a track as the GT350, if not faster in certain circumstances.

As for buying a used GT350 instead? Well, as I type this, there are only FIVE used 2019 or 2020 GT350s on AutoTrader.com within 300 miles of me, and the one with the lowest mileage of 4,671 has an asking price of $72,998. Even the cheapest one of the five still has an asking price of $63,900 and besides having 11,389 miles on it, it's a 2019, so the bumper-to-bumper warranty has already expired, and the powertrain warranty is set to expire next year.

So, if the GT350 is such a better car, feel free to spend your money on that. I won't judge. It's your money. As for me, I'd rather keep several thousand dollars in my pocket and have just as much fun driving it.

I'm 55 , been working for Ford forever and since I was 16 I maybe only spent 6 months not owning a Mustang in that time frame , I have owned them all .

I love my Mach 1 , I have added some bits to it and will more then likely add many more . The wife and I have 4 vehicles and this is now my daily driver , I cant get out of it .

I don't care that it just turned 5,000 miles and has a shit ton of rock chips , even with rok blokz front flaps it is still eating the paint off my rear quarters I plan to drive it into oblivion and enjoy every second of it .

The thing I like most about my Mach was opting for the "rear seat saving pebble catching delete system" .... I would hate to have all those rocks and road tar debris landing on my back seats ...
