I think the implication is you could buy a bunch and then help out your southern brethren :)
Yeah a trunk filled with oil filters could raise some interesting questions at US customs..... :giggle:

It would be interesting to contemplate what kind of bizarre scenarios they would have to come up with for oil filters to be part of the drug or weapon trade  Purification for drug cooks?

Someone would think they were suppressers 😉
You can get those all day long. I have several. All you need is a revokable living trust.

Who pulled their free oil filter from the box (mailer) that came with the GT350?

Not sure if it's a legit tip or not, but word over at trackmustangsonline is that Lethal Performance may have some filters in stock as of about a half-hour ago.

I think that's for spin-on filters ( CM-6731-FL820 ) unless I saw the wrong message.

I just called Lethal to ask. They said they don't have any of the FL-2087, only the old spin-on filters.

Bummer - apologies for the confusion and the dead end.

I wonder why Canada has stock while the USA does not. Somewhat odd.

I will go back sometime in the summer probably. If stock levels do not improve in the USA I will buy a few and then ship them to the desperate brethren here. Will not be a trunk full though...

I stopped by (2) local dealerships in Northeast WI area in the last few days. Both gave me the exact same story. They are "back-ordered" and cannot order me one, nor tell me when they will be available. Neither had any idea why they were back ordered. They said there was 1 showing to be "in-stock" at one dealership within a 100-mile radius. Good thing I'm not due for an oil change.

Call Ford today about this shortage. they said use an aftermarket filter

Funny, I just got done watching that video. I thought you did a good job but I would still be concerned to use an aftermarket filter when the manual says you cannot. Keep in mind that is a customer service person who at first had no idea what you were talking about. She seemed quite clueless about the whole thing. You on the other hand knew exactly what you were talking about.

Its a shame we don't have some kind of portal to get a determination from engineering at Ford. These filters can be found. I just bought one from Tasca parts recently.

I bought several that I passed along at my cost to other forum members and I may be getting some more and do the same thing.

Its good that you had customer service tell you it was OK to use aftermarket. I'm glad you got it all on tape and put it in a video. Since they inform you that the call may be recorded, that leaves you the right to record the call as well. My point being is that an official Ford representative stated that aftermarket is acceptable. I don't know if she was right or wrong or even qualified to make that declaration, but it gives people a leg to stand on if they have to resort to using aftermarket and god forbid something should go wrong.

Well done.
