Depends on circumstances and your needs.
In late '16, I was unable to find an R, but did find a great deal at an out-of-the way dealership on what at the time was referred to as a base track-pack 2017 non-R.
As others have pointed out, I wanted an R and kept looking. With the help of...
If there's not an incline where I park, I just use the tongue jack to lift the front of the trailer a bit (while it's still hooked to my truck). I leave the winch connected to the V strap under the car when towing, so all I have to do to unload is undo the wheel straps and use the winch remote...
There's a pretty detailed thread on the oil cross-over lines here.... https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/head-oil-balance-lines-archetype-or-mmr.167958/
The OEM version on the FP350S engine first appears in a Honeybadger comment at post #15.
The Bill of Materials for the FP350S is...
Hey Dave -
Those oil tubes are on my list of planned upgrades, but I haven't done it just yet. There are a couple of ways of going about this, including the purchase of the pre-fab'd flexible version available from Archetype Racing. I think I prefer the hardline solution with the high spot...
Well - there's this registry, but not complete.....

And, there's my story on life with #14, the Rented Mule...
No, they are full cages (sans door bars) that are welded in - note the "A" pillar bars in the below pic.
The Track Attack cars (GT350, GT500, and Mach 1) all use the bolt-in 4-point Watson rollbar.
Tommy can give more details.
Yep - Just like the Rented Mule (Former FPRS GT350 #14).
In fact, the Mule continues to be rode hard - here we are at this year's TireRack / Grassroots Motorsports Ultimate Track Car Challenge......
And here's this past season's tour t-shirt (note the tour name and shirt color; in honor of a...
For anyone looking for a great start on building a track car, here's a link to what I just posted on the General S550 Forum.....

Hi All -
As the caretaker of one of the FPRS GT350s, I thought I'd pass along a bit of news I received from Tommy Rhinehart at the school earlier today. They are now selling the Mustang GT student cars. Sounds like they're all the same price - $25k. I don't know how many they have for sale...
Fear not, my friend, the '73 Z28 LS7 swap project is back on the front burner for the winter.
I hate to sully the Mule's spotlight, but here are some current pics.
As everything around the stable settles into winter configuration, I thought I'd post a pic of a recent acquisition. Thanks, once again, to Mrs. Muligan, the Mule now has some sexy satin jammies for hibernation.......
Just throwing this out there - I think it was in either '17 or '18 when the fourth digit in the VIN on all R models was changed from a "T" to a "6". It could be that the person(s) responsible for the claim at the insurance company are mistaking an '18 with the 1FA6 VIN as a non-R.
Yeah - that's a great stop along Rt66. We made the trip with a bunch of other cars a few years back and I grabbed a pic behind the Pontiac museum with the Mule's little sister......
Another Season Comes to a Successful Close -
And, just like that, we draw the curtains on the 2023 season here in the midwest, as we now begin the task of getting everything into what we affectionately refer to as "winter configuration."
The Mule's final outing of the Rode Hard and Put Up Wet...
No difference noted in the few events since I put the screens in place, but the ambient temps have been cool for all three outings. We'll have to wait until next summer to see how things go in the higher heat.
Hey there - sure nice to see ya! Glad you could drop in for another update on the Rented Mule's on-track adventures. This time, we're a week past our Mid-Ohio outing with MVP Tracktime and in the throes of prepping for the upcoming TireRack / Grassroots Motorsports Ultimate Track Car...
I tow the Rented Mule with a 14' Featherlight 3110 open aluminum trailer. It's a 7,000 lb capacity, but weighs just under 1,300 lbs. Overall length is right around 18", so it fits in a standard home garage if that's important.
I use RaceRamps to cut down the load angle so that I have no...
Maybe look to Spintech and Dr. Gas for a solution to those low collectors? They do some great stuff with various shapes for tight areas and low clearance.
