I am not even going to complain about the paint issues I have with my 2018 Mustang or the panel gaps, or the A10 trans shifting like its about to fall apart etc. My issue is with the creeks and rattles from the interior. It is embarrassing and downright annoying. For reference, I have a 2003 Toyota Corolla with 220,000 miles that has less rattles than my Mustang with 28,000 miles. My other car is a 2010 Infiniti G37 with 122,000 miles that has only 1 creek/rattle from the center console.

I have owned several cars from many brands and honestly Ford dropped the ball on the interior for this vehicle (how its put together not the looks). I am sure a bunch of you will jump in and say oh mine is silent etc and that's great! My issue is that Ford wont acknowledge these issues and dealerships dont care to help much either. I have had to use my warranty for Toyota and Infiniti and was treated really well as a customer with satisfying results to the issues. Ford has on 3 different occasions (2 different dealerships) completely denied to fix issues by making excuses as things being "normal" what a bunch of horse-crap. This is my first "American" car and when I was about to buy this I had friends tell me to stay away but I wanted to give Ford a chance and not get into group think. Sadly Ford has all the issues that my friends and family faced and the fact that Ford is not very helpful and welcoming to resolve the issues.

I have extended warranty I purchased so that I could be safe but whats a warranty worth if Ford wont even bother to fix the issues and call them "normal"

Sad because this car can be fantastic if Ford would stand behind their product.

To be honest, I think if the Genesis coupe had still been in production I would have given it consideration. The outgoing car was a 2010 Sonata, which went to the dealership for a re-flash of the ECM (although the car had not exhibited the symptoms described in the TBS), the rear sway bar links were replaced and the driver’s door window motor in five years of bumper-to-bumper warranty. My costs included the driver’s side window regulator, a battery and one set of brakes all around. Plus the usual stuff, tires and air and cabin filters. I did my own oil changes. The car ran without missing a beat and never had any squeaks or rattles. And in 9 years of ownership, it had fewer paint chips than the Mustang has in barely over a year.

How long did you own it out of warranty?
The entire time I owned it, which was six years.

I bought it used with 37k miles already on it. Was over 110k miles when I sold it.

Don't hold your breath on that one.

From my experience, they don't care about the customer one iota.

If I could just shake the sentimental value I have for Mustangs, I would have bought a new Camry XSE and been done with worrying about transportation for the next six - ten years easy, not to mention saving an absolute bundle of cash.

Alas, it was not meant to be.

Prior to my 2015 EB I had a Jaguar and two Infiniti's. Panel fit was excellent as was the paint. I had zero issues with any of them. But they weren't Mustangs. My 2015 EB was a DD for work. The paint was fine but I had some body panel issues. My 2019 GT/CS paint looks good but again some random body fit issues. So lets forget the comparison to exports and look at my wife's 2018 Escape. Paint perfect. Body panel fit perfect. Not one of these cars cost what my 19' did. Are we expecting too much? No, we are not.

I wonder what the big difference is between the Gen3+ Escape plant (Kentucky) vs where the Mustang is built (Michigan)... Not to mention the Gen3+ Escape is actually a Ford Europe-designed Kuga.

Maybe the Escape plant needs to send some of these over to Flat Rock.

I assume its because mine is new.

I'm likely going to buy a leftover GT and then sleeve the motor and go built A10, upgraded half shafts, and hellion twin turbo street sleeper.

Not 100% yet. I was looking at a C63 or ZL1, but those don't need mods.

I want a V8 and to modify it. I wish the GT350 came with a DCT, because driving around NYC in a manual is a pain with traffic and pedestrians.
I used to do NYC and DC for my last job in a manual Mach1. Never made me wish for an auto, youre just getting old. :-)

The "burger flippers" making the cars are here, but all the profits get shipped overseas where the high-buck employees are.

A lot of fit and finish is designed into the process in my opinion. I don't believe that a Mercedes assembler is better than a Ford assembler. It's just that the components, fixtures and processes are better on the Mercedes than on the Ford.

German = extreme complexity and very efficient design, high quality parts, high requirements for high lvl of tolerances with priority for performance with less priority to long lasting parts - can last many years, but expensive to maintain
Proper modern german car maintenance essentially is preventative parts replacement. Those who never owned german cars might think this is oil, coolant changes, etc

Is that why German cars never break down, and cost almost nothing to own outside of warranty:crazy:?
I'm not saying that Mercedes is a better car in the long term. Just talking about initial fit and finish, and actually I'm only talking about it in a theoretical sense. I have no interest in a Mercedes, so I couldn't tell you if they actually have good fit and finish. I know some cars that people brag up, like Hondas, have crappy fit and finish from what I've seen. But I would stick by my statement about fit and finish being less from the people putting the car together and more from the engineering/design behind the assembly process.

Frankly I think Fords have really good quality and the minor fit and finish issues don't matter to me. Like I said before, I'm about wanting good performance for a relatively inexpensive price.

Has nothing to do with the people assembling and everything to do with the concessions Dave Pericak allowed from FRAP for build GD&T. FFS, the rear subframe position can and often was up to 6 mm off one way or the other.
