I keep feeling like the wipers are way too sensitive in this car. Is there a way to tune the sensitivity down. I have not seen anything talked about in Forscan.

On my prior car I could set it and forget I ever needed to tough the wipers. Now I find myself deactivating them and just doing manual swipes when needed.

I felt the exact same way the first week I had the car. I bought it in December and I live in the Seattle area, so constant drabby rain at that time of year. First time I flipped on the wipers to its lowest setting and was driving around the rain kicked up the the wipers went into nuclear gear.

There's a setting in your vehicle menu where you can change these settings. Honestly I just got used to it. Rarely do I turn the wipers on higher than the first two settings.

you use the intermittent wheel on the wiper stalk to adjust the sensitivity of the rain sensing wipers.

It is like every car on the road, adjust it using the wheel on the stalk.

Apparently many Mustangs are delivered without an Owners Manual

I'm talking about the lowest setting. The swipe frequencies are too high in light rain.

That's not the actual problem but thanks for not being a dick about your response. It's as low as it will go.

The auto-sense wipers on my 18 are noticeably inconsistent (too fast or too slow) when compared to my 15 S550 or my wife's 15 Edge. It doesn't matter what I do with the adjustment wheel on the wiper arm, more often than not leaving it on auto sense doesn't cut it. First world problems.

Michail, it's been to dry in my area to even use the wipers on our '18. I've already told the wife that if they work anywhere as bad as the ones on my '13 F-150 I'll turn the dang things off (which I did on the truck). Sounds to me like they are worse than than that.

I'm generally not opposed to automation, particularly in tasks that computers are well suited for, however I don't see auto-rain sensing wipers to be one of these. I suspect a lot of people use rain-X or similar hydrophobic windshield treatments. With such a treatment you really don't need wipers above about 35mph in medium rain. Slower speeds or heavier rain you probably do, but the auto sensing function is going to do a terrible job modulating.

It was really good in my Mercedes. I think it's just a matter of getting the algorithms right.

Even if one were to put the auto sensing interval to fast it should still respond somewhat slow in light rain or while stopped.

With window treatments I have turned the feature off before.

I'll be one to admit that I thought I didn't NEED to read the owner's manual for operating windshield wipers. I didn't realize they were moisture sensing at all, so you can imagine my surprise when rain really picked up and the wipers went bonkers on the lowest setting.

I thought they were broke. The service folks at the dealership had a laugh when I asked about them. THEN I whipped out the owner's manual, and felt dumb.

I spend a lot of time just letting it be. Like I said - if you want to mess with it there are settings under settings/vehicle you can change in your menu.

My original point was to see if there was a way to tune them from firmware or software. I'll ask on the next service visit. I doubt there is but it can't hurt.

I realize I'm comparing Ford to Mercedes but it can't be hard to set that auto sensing feature to work smarter.

Just turn off the auto wipers in option menu and turn them on/off when you want to - such a nonsense auto wipers.

sorry to hear of your problems, sounds like others dont like them at all. They work perfectly on my 16. Hopefully the dealer can sort yours out.
