Ford Performance can be very cryptic about things like that and changes to engines....they will neither conform or deny most things, and that all products go through changes over the production life time...

Voodoos do not have break in oil. Your first oil change is the most important, it has 3 times the contaminates of subsequent oil changes.I picked mine up on July 5. Drove her back from Arizona to California. I just rolled over 2100 miles. ZERO oil consumption. I was going to change the oil at 1500 miles and was told by a Ford tech who works on GT350's that I should leave the break in oil and not change the oil until I roll over 3000/3500 miles. I was told some who have changed the oil at 1000 or 1500 miles, like I was going to, end up with the ticking sound because the valves didn't have time to seat properly with the break in oil. I can't help but think there may be something to that, because I kept the revs down below 3000 rpm for the 1st 100 miles and varied my speed and rpm's, with no high revs until I hit 1000 miles. She runs like a top now and hitting 7500 rpm in 3rd gear is definitely a sweet spot when jumping on the freeway. No oil consumption as of yet and no ticking sounds. Just FYI.
Agree they (many reps) are cryptic about almost everything in my experience. Not all of them but some for sure. Repeating back conclusions or qualifiers often gets you nowhere or worse. When you suddenly get a survey thrown at you to end the conversation you know you've wasted your time.Ford Performance can be very cryptic about things like that and changes to engines....they will neither conform or deny most things, and that all products go through changes over the production life time...
At what mileage would you recommend that first oil change, GrabberBlue?Voodoos do not have break in oil. Your first oil change is the most important, it has 3 times the contaminates of subsequent oil changes.
As a first time 350 owner I wish there was a definitive answer when to change every other post is contradicting. May just have to change it at 1000 and pray I don't see how a little bit of metal wouldn't be lingering aroundOn my new motor, I waited 4500 miles till I changed the oil......no oil consumption after 10 k miles.....on the original motor, i changed it at 1K miles.....and by 4K miles it was eating oil.
I agree think im going to do my 19 at 1000 im at 700 right now. Is there any benefit to Amsoil over Motorcraft or are they the same.To help ease the decision. There is no special break-in oil that comes pre-filled in the Voodoo. It is the same Motorcraft 5w50 Full Synthetic you can pick up.
I am more concerned about the slough of casting media, thread locker, misc metal wear, sealant and gasket material floating around.
Ford builds these engines with the fact that some people are not going to remotely follow break-in procedures.
Amsoil is quite a bit better. Motorcraft is basically 10w-35 after 1500 miles.I agree think im going to do my 19 at 1000 im at 700 right now. Is there any benefit to Amsoil over Motorcraft or are they the same.
No chance the FPC is dead after the 350 its just to much risk to put into front engine cars. Also ford signed a deal with Cali to continue the tree hugging emissions standards the obama admin put in place so the 500 is gonna be the last of its kind as well as everything moves to electric.I haven't read all of the pages here, but was just wondering, how many think these changes could be that Ford is planning after the GT500 comes out to release a GT350 that's FPC and a smaller SC or a turbo? Maybe pushing near 625hp?
Holy sh!t. Better let Ford Engineers know they been getting this wrong for a while.Amsoil is quite a bit better. Motorcraft is basically 10w-35 after 1500 miles.
