The SS has few options, cost $38,000, has shitty standard performance equipment and they rob you with the "Premium" at $42,000. The styling has been stale since 2013 and it's still very heavy all while Chevy eliminated some pretty valuable support.

Full panic mode has already ensued, look at how they are firing out product. A good product doesn't need panicked updates. They are making moves before any annual numbers or profits roll out.

Outcome? Usually not good... they better PRAY one of these models break out and get attention. I just don't see it... everything was so predictable except this level and magnitude of failure.

A slow roll out of the volume cars will KILL them (Vert and EcoDuke). The fast tempo of HALO roll out will f@ck them if nobody cares.

You do realize that the new ss weighs 3729lbs with the auto and 3,685 with a manual??? Meanwhile over at the Mustang world... 3,705 to 3,729 lbs. I think GM beat Ford with the weight issues this year. I am starting to see why so many people put you on their blocked list. You really like to pull false info out of nowhere. The Camaro isn't going anywhere Fast. So it cost 2k more than the Mustang. Big deal. It will catch up with the new 2.0t. Just as someone said from an earlier post. 35% of Mustang sales where the ecoboost. I'm pretty sure that Gm will see the same increase as well.

Nobody (well, maybe one or two people) deny that the Camaro is not a great performing vehicle. However, that performance is not translating to sales, apparently. IMHO, GM's gamble of not introducing a truly new Camaro design with the 6thGen but just carrying over the 5thGen design, with some subtle changes, to a different chassis was a huge mistake. A mistake many of us called when the reveal first occurred.


I am the exception to that rule. I have been in a senior leadership position for many years and have ZERO desire to purchase/drive a BMW/Audi/Merc.

I would get an audi s4 or rs4, other than that. Nope

So you think just adding the turbo will double the Camaro's sales? (in the case of March 2016) or pick up an average of 3,500 cars a month?

It's not optioned or priced well enough to make sure that happens.

Yeah...the turbo. A car you have to option up to nearly $30,000 to get the performance GM has been bragging about and you still get a cloth interior, no ambient lighting, no multi zone climate control, no reconfigurable center – display ...but you do get the lack of visibility, no storage space and unusable backseat for free

I was on the Camaro6 forums last night just browsing through and it's funny seeing how things are perceived.

"The Camaro looks so aggressive, I love it, but I have a hard time telling the difference between a 2015 and 2016 without looking twice"

When it really comes down to it, one car is a more practical car driven on the street while the other is more track focused. Simply put.

In March 2016, GM sold 6,879 examples of the Chevrolet Camaro, which includes some “old” 2015 models and a majority of new 2016 models.

I've heard the "there are none available" thing a few times, but it seems not to be the case when you search. Perhaps there's some tiny village somewhere in the middle of nowhere that it does hold true though.

For example in my area (just north of Seattle) an AutoTrader search turns up 141 2016 Camaros of any trim level, 65 of them being SS models. That's within a 50 mile radius.

IMHO the new Camaro is just too ugly and too expensive and the overwhelming majority of buyers don't care if it's a little faster in magazine tests.

So the reasons in order are
1. The mustang is the newer model so of course it's selling better
2. Production wasn't in full swing.
3. General lack of availability
4. Lack of the Turbo model.
5. Cold weather
6. The mustang has been out longer (which contradicts what they said about the 5th gen)
