For me, the stock MACH1 sound was totally perfect. Now im just trying to get back to that, while still maintaining the flow and ease of cat inspection/changes of the long tubes.I guess it’s because I’m young, but I have long tubes (catted) and an H-pipe resonator delete with the stock active exhaust and absolutely love the sound. Before the headers I used to always drive in track, and even after them I was convinced I’d still want as much sound as possible. I will admit track is a bit much for daily driving, so now it lives in normal most of the time, although I still use sport and even track at times.
I agree, and I would’ve been 100% fine leaving the exhaust stock if I were required to. But I guess I also just like being able to hear it more and since I had the opportunity to make changes I did. But I also understand why for some people it may just be too loud, not everyone likes the same things. Not sure if how close to stock sound you’ll really be able to get if you’re keeping the long tubes on, or if that’s even possible, but I’m curious to see if you find a solution! For me, the stock MACH1 sound was totally perfect. I had done my long tubes before the ESS blower, and it did sound great then, but the increased amount of exhaust gases with the blower I think is more than the OEM cat back can handle. I have a Whipple, Kooks LTH w/green cats and everything else in the exhaust stock. I love the sound! I get that it to each their own. Will do. First Im going to try out my revised tune from Wengerd. Then I may go with the Accelatec resonated X Pipe, Although I do like @shogun32 idea of opening the OEM resonator/Mufflers and addign exhaust mattingIm old when its convenient or so Im told. Having said that, my Jeep has no active exhaust and man did I order the wrong cat back for the Kooks LTHs w/green cats. Solo exhaust - basically straight pipes. I need resonators there.
If you decide resonators, please post before & after
LOL. What a coincidence...@Mikepol2 has a modified H-pipe with an inline resonator. You can probably pry it out of his grasp.
I personally despise rasp.
