So an X-Pipe with the Tru-x resonator/xpipe thing is quieter than the factory resonator?
I can’t speak to that. X pipe was put on when the Roush was installed. Once I put on the off road LTH’s I added the tru-x. I was never boosted with the factory resonator, but I would say the tru-x would probably sound close to the factory but flow better.

The only place in the exhaust that looks to have room for additions, is right in front of the mufflers, but I don't know if a bottle resonator will do the trick, and I don't think a Vibrant Ultra-Quiet would fit.

So yeah, I'm joining the "It's too damn loud with longtubes club, However, my situation may be unique in that I still have the OEM resonator and active exhaust MACH1 mufflers in place. I installed Stainless Power 1-7/8 headers with their high flow cats to support the ESS blower. Under normal driving conditions the exhaust sounds great, not too loud, etc. but when I open er' up, it is just too loud for me and my wife. I guess I'm getting old, but in sport or track, even with the factory cat back, this thing makes WOT pulls painful. Also, this car generates enough attention, I don't need cops from 3 miles away to hear me when im romping on it.

Wondering if anyone else has done this, and if so, what sort of solutions you came up with. I've considered the Vibrant (or similar) bottle resonators right behind the mufflers but I don't know if this would really make enough of a difference, and have also considered the Magnaflow Tru-X resonator installed after the OEM resonator, but don't like that it is 409 stainless, and not sure it would really fit in that location anyway.

Basically im looking for more of an OEM sound, but still trying to maintain adequate flow for 700WHP+. (asking a lot, I know). The other reason I installed the headers is so that I can easily inspect, and change out the cats when necessary. (Not possible with OEM manifolds)

Any suggestions or examples are appreciated
I have Kooks LTHs & cats, but stock resonator and Mach 1 active exhaust. I'm NA not FI, but I love the sound levels

Yeah I think the FI sends it over the edge.

I have 100’s of videos but can’t seem to find one of the lth’s with the tru-x from the outside. Just ones from inside when I ubered two drunk ladies around town ( the wife and her best friend)!

Yeah not sure. My issue is both volume and rasp. If I can cut one down I can deal with the other.
The tru-x did help cut down on both of those I will say. I could drive around on track mode and it sounded like normal or even quiet mode at times.

Im right there with you. I've got a chat in with CJPony parts to see if their Accelatec thing manages sound and rasp better than the OEM resonator

I agree, I have a set of Kooks in the classifieds right now with 100 miles on them. Too raspy and too loud. Made me not enjoy driving it, and I was certain I would not get used to it. Love the thought of having them for flow but figure I would kill that trying to achieve a better sound.
