Thanks all for your help and support! 10 rib whipple has been ordered after some great advice from Terry TeamBeefCake Racing. I have been soul searching on this for the past week and I think I made the right choice for ease of fitment etc.

Will keep all posted in my build thread!

Great choice man!!! Looking forward to seeing your build!

It does cost more than the Hellion base kit, but then again the base Blackbird kit is ball bearing turbos while the Hellion kit is journal bearings. Hellion has proved they can go fast, doesn't mean their kit is the best just because they have been on the market all this time. I'd encourage you to check out the Blackbird thread, look at the pictures, and talk to Noah.
Oh yeah, ball bearing turbos alone make up the difference.

The cost is within a couple hundred dollars when you select the Hellion 64 ball bearings, so I guess that does alone make up the difference.

every company is going to claim theirs is the best. that is a given.

the most important thing is performance, and most of the kits perform well.

i know we've sold quite a few of the hellion kits, and we have installed locally as well.

the fit and finish is excellent, and you have solid 8 second full weight street cars.

i'm sure at some point we'll see the other brands hit that as well. but we have been very hapy with the results we've seen on the hellion packages

Thank you for considering Hellion. If you decide to change power adders in the future we hope you consider us at that point as well.

For sure!!!! Just a few factors in play, at this point seems like whipple would be a better choice for my scenario.

It seems like you have an excellent kit though so I do hope to see more people running it!!! :)

You're not gonna go any faster with the whipple, maybe a smidge, hope you can at least get into the 10's. If 8's are your goal then you need an auto, a fuel system, and some twins. Sorry to sound negative but you're going in all the wrong directions, hope you get it figured out.

I love shifting gears too but you damn well he ain't going 8's or 9's with an mt82 vert, with him behind the wheel. Sell him an auto trans, 2step, trans brake, some ID1300's, triple pumps, a Weltrac, and a hellion twin kit :D

I have fore triple pump fuel system.

You don't think car will be any faster? If I can make more power with whipple traction aside what would stop it from going faster? Curious.

I mean, I dont want to discourage you, but your back is up against the wall if you have steep dragstrip goals. The whipple is definitely capable of making big power, but not much more then what you have now with your TVS. I'd scrap your dragstrip goals and be a roll king, or go auto.

Yeah i don't plan to compete with this car. It's a convertible. I just think it will be awesome to cruise around knowing ive run or come close to 8 second quarter mile times

I am surprised you decided so fast. I don't have power adder experience but I don't recall seeing any data on this forum showing that Whipple will make significantly more power than what you already have :

I trust terry reeves and kelly aiken. They are confident i can do it with my build.

If i cant ill see if i can convince hellion to give me a deal and let me prove what their kit will do compared to whipple.

Worst case, I'll live with the whipple. Not a bad thing to deal with.

personally I wouldn't want to make big power in a vert

one guy here broke 6th gear in his MT82, running a paxton. Aftermarket Tremec isn't cheap.
