personally I wouldn't want to make big power in a vert

one guy here broke 6th gear in his MT82, running a paxton. Aftermarket Tremec isn't cheap.
Its not. But mine will be here next week. Ben calimer 6060 transmission conversion.

I would just shoot for a specific mph instead of an ET, like 140+ to start with, that is entirely reasonable to attain with a whipple.

Burnin4 sounds like he has the right idea.

Is there any Whipple 800+ hp dyno graphs on this forum? You are investing a lot in your car. I would suggest trading your car for a hardtop before attempting to make more power. For safety reasons.

Is 130mph trap safer than 160mph? I'm not going to be drag racing this car all the time. Mostly just driving it. Roll cage going in soon

Actually, yes, a 130 mph trap speed IS considerably safer. Here's why: It's not just the extra 30 mph that's at play here, it takes a TREMENDOUS amount more power to the ground to run 160 vs 130. Things happen SO much faster on a pass resulting in 160 mph speeds than they do on a 130 mph pass. The difference in how fast things happen is much bigger than it sounds. In other words, it's not a linear progression. For lack of a better word, passes like what you're talking about are VIOLENT. The amount of time you have to react if the car gets out of shape is much less on a low 9 or high 8 second pass than it is on a 10 second pass.

I get it. Crashing sucks no matter what car your in. Point is worth roll cage i don't see wrecking over 100mph any safer in vert vs hard top with roll cage.

This post isn't about safety or what car i should be in. This post is about first hand impressions of Whipple and hellion setup.

Thank you for your concern though.

At least with a vert you'd get mad air on the ejection, just gotta stick the landing. Don't ask those wacky arabs how to do it, they haven't mastered it either.

Lethal and watson racing are using whipple. Plus the cobra jet is too. Search is your friend.

Thats what happens when you take a fast turn and hit the gas in a solid roller chassis.

Oh um i mean wow thats scary. So glad he was in a hard top with roll cage. Glad everyone is ok.

Great way to advertise your new show and get people talking about it.

I get it. Shitty things can happen. Be as safe as possible. I appreciate your safety concerns and they are noted. I like the vert for when i want to cruise with the top down on a nice day. Much like you see old hot rods with no top and huge tires/ blowers at car shows. In truth, i mostly cruise when driving this car with the top down. Some days i am alone on the highway i step on it for a minute and let off. Some days I'll want to throw the slicks in my car head to the track see how i can do in the quarter. This is my all around dream car. Its not a trailer queen drag car. First thing everyone says is how fast you want to go. Well my answer is fast. But whats fast to me isnt fast to others and vice versa so we talk numbers. I think it would be cool to pull off an 8 second quarter mile time so i give an answer i want to reach and i say 8s. In reality, i spent considerable money on a motor build and I'm told this motor should handle 1000rwhp reliably. I get some will say no one can guarantee how much power a combo will hold and for how long. Im fine with that. But when the builder says it should hold 1000rwhp well i want to shoot for 1000rwhp. Just because. And i want to have as much fun as safe as possible.

Now that i have explained myself, can we please stay on topic? I am interested in hearing anything constructive on impressions and first hand experience on whipple and hellion as who knows. Maybe one day ill seitch to a hellion or some other twin turbo.
