Not really. Lot of automatic GT's.I wouldn't count on the first part. The vast vast majority of people here are getting the performance pack.
No package; that's aftermarket. How does Husker's GT get the red "5.0"? What package is that?
A 4.56 is like a 3.73, when the 3.73 has a 3.66 first gear and the 4.56 has a 2.20 (the close ratio T-10 1st gear IIRC).That's how it works. When I was just 16 my brother come home with a new '63 Stingray, which soon became my daily driver. That thing had a 4.56 from the factory. It was the hot set-up for for the drive-in, but it had a top speed of about 96. Many years later we heard that the engine blew up on the Chicago Skyway. I've always been leary over geared axles. It's like you're driving a gear ratio instead of a V8 engine. Of course, 4.56 isn't 3.73, but I think I'd rather a 3.55.
Well said. You must have traction issues then, all 4.6 motors and the 5.0 engines make their power in the high rpm range. If I had an auto car it would have 4.10's in it. 3.55 is the perfect gear for a manual yes and the 3.73 is steep in a manual, but unless you have a turbo/supercharged car the 3.31's suck. Anyone that would take out the 3.73 from a PP car is an idiot, unless like I said above, it was boosted.
They in fact are all LSD's -- just not Torsen...I was shocked to learn they do not
Well done Norm, looks much better...It's not the style that's the problem, although it is 'busy' enough to get in the way of easy cleaning (I find detailing to be an extremely tedious activity).
They should have been available like this ↓↓↓ - which I do find fairly attractive - with a black option of some sort available for those who prefer that.

I ate some crow as I was arguing that the Mustangs all came with LSD's and I got put into my place. Thanks Billy..They are basically open diffs. Put a track day under it and the Z-shaped preload spring and clutch plates become useless, so realistically -no they don't have an LSD. The Torsen is a decent unit and that is what I was referring to.
I agree. Just springs made a huge difference in my car.The uber heavy wheels and the suspension is still quite soft. The PP Mustang 5.0 I drove was softer than my E92 M3 with my shocks set to comfort mode. Ford has been under damping their cars lately. A wheel with the very high (numerically) offset that Ford uses for the Mustang is much to heavy. The new BMW M3/4 with their ET40 19X10 rear wheels they come in at 22lbs. Over 10lbs lighter than the rear on the Mustang yet .5" wider.
There is nothing wrong with the 3.73s regardless of what the 0-60 time thread shows. As the car will hit 60mph in 2nd gear but it does take it out of its power band as it seems the peak power comes in right at 6500rpm. The issue of people getting crappy 0-60 runs using the track apps is an issue with the app not that the car is not hitting 60 in 2nd gear, it actually hits 62mph in 2nd gear.
If its going to be a performance pack, make it a real performance pack.
I would still get it as the price of admission includes the brakes and Torsen unit, and that alone makes it worth getting. The wheels would be sold right away and I would move on to something else.
