Somebody needs to reproduce the PP2 wheels but the liquid metal finish will be very important! I love those wheels. No plasti dip gray!

I had a '17 1SS 6spd. Only option was the the NPP exhaust. Could care less about NAV, blind spot junk, stereo (exhaust sounds way better :). What's why I got a new Camaro for $34,995 before tax.

It's an awesome car. It definitely had more grunt than the Mustang PP I test drove. Mine ended up being a lemon buy back. But I can say with confidence that the latest generation Camaro is one of the worst built vehicles on the road. "Quality Control" hardly exists. There are endless issues. If you get one trouble free, play the superlotto immediately.

Damn, bunch a haters 'round here... lol

As I mentioned previously, I joined this forum because I was shopping between the Mustang and the 1LE. I was waiting to find out more about the PP2 and the 1LE is the only Camaro I was interested in (not counting the ZL1).

After weighing the options (bang for the buck mainly) and reading/watching tons of reviews, I chose the 1LE. HOWEVER, my wife decided on a 2018 PP1 Mustang which is on order which is why I still hang around on here. Additionally, I like all performance cars. Just because I chose a Camaro, doesn't mean I don't like the Mustang and talking cars with Mustang owners. Because I'm not a brand fanboi, I can give my perspective (the good, the bad, and the ugly) about the Camaro. Will do the same once the wife's Mustang shows up.

Yes, I did post a bunch of pics of the Camaro on different threads. However; like me, there are others who are shopping/deciding. In fact, some of the same folks on here are over at Camaro6. Also, I was a bit excited about the recent acquisition of the Camaro.

Pretty funny that guys are stocking my posts to see how many times I posted pics. Sad.

Anyway, to each their own. I think the 1LE is a great car and a tremendous bargain. I also think the Mustang is a fantastic car.

As for the valve coking, whatever, no big deal. I like wrenching on cars (ooh, you burned me, I wish I would have got the Mustang! :(). LOL! Since I only drive the car on weekends, I guess it will be quite a while before I have to clean it out. At least it won't overheat after a few laps on the track... hahaha

Happy motoring guys, maybe I'll see ya at the track (in my rear view mirror)!

jk

Ford has it's own issues, let's not kid ourselves.

However, I do keep a bottle of Loctite handly since the Camaro sway bar end links like to come loose from time to time (known issue, Chevy finally has a fix, but dealerships won't tell ya until you tell them you have a clunk in the front end over bumps or turning) hahahaha 'Merica!

Bottom line is that most of the Ford, Chevy, and Dodge issues are minor and can be fixed fairly easily if you are a wrench turner. I don't take my cars to any dealership for anything if I don't have to. Sucks for folks who aren't mechanically inclined and I can see how issues could be frustrating. In that case, buy a Camry.

I guess I'm used to driving custom cars and hot rods (wrench, drive, repeat), so fixing things and performing maintenance and checks is part of the fun for me.

How are you liking that forced 1st > 4th shift?

That’s like a $35 fix. It only does that if you shift to 2nd under 15mph. So it wasn’t as intrusive for me as I thought it would be.

Congrats on the car but just comparing the photos of yours and the PP2 Mustang I don't see that much difference in wheel gaps. I get it, we all have our reasons for justifying a purchase. Personally I just chalk it up to personal preference and call it a day. Anyway, enjoy the car!
Woah. That profile actually looks really, really good.

I can tell you have never had to clean valve deposits before.

So, you can't live without navigation (that's what cell phones are for, plus you get on star navigation even on a 1SS 1LE), blind spot monitoring (use the mirrors and be aware of your surroundings), Bose (who cares? the exhaust note is music to me), park sensors (meh, again, be aware of your car's corners). You get more on the 1SS 1LE than you do on a "base" 1SS. You get alcantara on the flat bottom steering wheel, shift knob, Recaros, and rear seats in addition to leather surrounding the alcantara which you don't get on a regular 1SS. Power seats are also fully adjustable on both the driver and passenger sides. You also get HUD, 4 drive modes, independent settings for the exhaust, steering, eLSD, and magnetic ride suspension. I thought Chevy had the worst interior quality wise of the big three, but man was I wong. It's a gorgeous interior and the materials have a high quality feel including the stitched dash insert.

As you know, in addition to the above, you get eLSD, 3.73s, additional coolers (trans, dif, oil...), forged 20s, unique spoiler and splitter, active exhaust, braces, unique spring rates and lowered height, functional hood vents, 6 piston brembos front, 4 piston rear, etc, etc, etc...

I know it is different for every person, but for me the visibility isn't that big of a deal. Took me all of 10 minutes to get used to it.

It is a phenomenal car at a phenomenal price. I just bought a brand new 1SS 1LE for $41,500 out the door. At first I wanted the Mustang, but once the PP2 was released, it was no match for the 1LE package. My wife on the other hand just ordered a PP1 GT which is why I'm still on this forum. I'm not a brand guy, I like all performance cars.

They got the stance and wheel offsets correct also. :clap2:
Thats a great looking car!

Alcantara is the worst. I have it on all the Surface Pro tablets at work and ALL of them in a year start to look dingy. I can't even imagine how it will hold up to while driving for 3-5 or more years. I'd rather not have a steering wheel that I have to constantly clean and care for. Just give me leather or a soft plastic instead.

I have NO idea why people brag about alcantara. I hate the stuff it's durable as wet paper.

I agree, the stuff is garbage. I've had it in a few cars now, I can't believe it's passed off as a premium product when it definitely is not.
