Watching 24 Hours of Daytona, they've been discussing Ford's all-in development of a Mustang specifically engineered to run in IMSA class GT3. Porsche GT3 is a 992 series 911 built as a homologation model to run in GT3. Carrera and Porsche Supercups. They cannot copywrite GT anything.
The fun question is will there be a Mustang homologation model like Porsche's GT3? Ford already supports a customer based GT4 Mustang, but this will be a purpose-built car.
edit: If Ford did, it wouldn't the first time- the 1993 Mustang SVT Cobra R had only 107 built and was pretty much a road legal race car. And they are the only Fox-bodies to be worth north of $150,000
...wasn't it a couple years or so back when Ford confirmed that an s650 was
in the offing.
People were all excited over Chevy and the mid-engine Corvette and we
were all hoping Ford would do the same with our toy.
Now we have some alleged renditions of our beloved Pony car and (I don't think)
no one has mentioned a mid engine car?
Is the anticipation of one left every body?
Maybe something to consider..........................................
