Redesigned the uprights for my wing. Brushed the aluminum and sent it off for powder coat. Tinted clear

Sucks after all that work! Yeah just get a Motorcraft off of Rockauto IMO
That’s the plan now. I actually found out there’s an alternator repair place pretty close by. I’m going to see if they can check the voltage regulator on it, I think that’s the cause of the issue I’m having but not 100%.

Woke it up from its slumber … :sunglasses:
  • Disconnected the battery tender.
  • Foamed (Bilt Hamber).
  • Foamed again and agitated all seals and shut lines with brushes.
  • Two bucket wash (strong mix of Meguiars shampoo plus to make it extra slick).
  • Trunk shut.
  • Door shuts.
  • Hood shuts.
  • Removed battery cover, checked and cleared drains.
  • Quick under hood clean.
I didn’t do the wheels, the brakes have got a lot of surface rust to clear (and I’ve got new wheels to ceramic coat and fit).

Fired right up, like it was run yesterday.

Short drive - can’t really leave the estate (not taxed yet).

I felt like the Mustang gods blessed me :
  • No nasty surprises.
  • No damp trunk.
  • No damp carpets.
  • No battery terminal corrosion.
It’s shocking how much crap accumulates under the hood vents, in the trunk shuts, and around the bulkhead / hood hinges / battery tray etc.

A few photos, just to liven up my post :

Will it make it to six … ? :

So now the ‘winter ‘reset’ is complete, I can move on with the ‘summer prep’ … :like:

This weekend was maintenance time for my daily driver '16 GT premium. Did the usual oil change, filters, etc., but man, screw the Ford engineers that designed the cabin air filter system. And the manager that approved the design, screw that guy too, haha. Both groups need a solid kick to the nutz. Why does this need to be so difficult, lol.

Compared to my wife's Mazda CX5 and our 3rd vehicle Toyota Highlander this thing is easily the worst design, eesh.

Okay rant over. Took the car on some fun backroads afterwards and all was forgotten... until next time!

Yes, and it is the same place in the 2023 Mach 1. You have to be a gymnast.

It seems like it’s just one thing after another.

Got the front struts off…. And found this, to go along with the broken active suspension actuator that I had to order last week.
