Wow. I'm blown away. I seriously doubt that you will find another dealer in the country as good as Holman! Congratulations and I hope the fix is permanent.Ok fellas - my driveline vibration is G-O-N-E (for the 3rd time - isn't the saying something like, "3rd time is a charm"?)... it better be gone for good this time, because it's been a BITCH since approx 1,900 miles and 11 mos of my "new car" ownership (have just over 15k on it now).
The only sensations I can feel at this point are natural engine harmonics and road surface deviations (or tire "noise" over these same deviations).
Attached you will find THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE work order I have received to date on exactly what was performed AND it includes, specifics of actions taken and NVH readings from the MTS 4000 Analyzer tool.
PLEASE READ the work order in its entirety!!! Feel free to share it with your Service Center.
Also to note - I find it interesting as to what was documented about how one part of the test involving the MTS 4000 had to be worked around for use on the S550 (bottom of page 3 into top of page 4). This is making me wonder if other Ford Service Centers are actually using the tool 100% for all areas of testing or dismissing the use of the tool and just "saying" they used it to push the Customers back off of a lengthy warranty job.
The BIGGEST push a Customer needs to do is - go on a lengthy road test with an EXPERIENCED Shop Foreman or Tech. Explain the car HAS TO maintain the speed ranges noted where the issue is the worst and persists for a distance, not just hopping out on the road and driving around a corner and back. Be PERSISTENT with your quest to getting the desired results.
Enjoy!
Wow, small world dude! Pennsauken is where I was when small (as well as other family). Yes, they used to be on 73, but a few years back, moved over to 38 (a Toyota Dealer now occupies the old Rice & Holman lot). Funny you should mention Al's CJ, I had to buy the 1:18 scale die cast just because it has "Rice & Holman" and "Pennsauken" names on the body and is an exact replica of that very CJ!Grew up in Pennsauken.
'86 GT and '93 LX 5.0 both purchased new from Rice & Holman Ford...later Holman.
Awesome dealership.
You were in excellent hands!
Glad to see they are still doing things the right way and taking care of business.
They sponsored Al Joniec's '68 Cobra Jet Mustang.
No problem w/sharing the info... Feel free to show your shop what's involved. As you can see, they put nearly 50 miles on my car to perform the corrective actions - so it was no small task for them.:clap2:Mine goes in the shop Monday. My hat is off to you for sharing this info.
Yes, Holman is an excellent Dealer. I give my hand to the Tech who performed the work, he did a thorough documentation, that's for sure!Wow. I'm blown away. I seriously doubt that you will find another dealer in the country as good as Holman! Congratulations and I hope the fix is permanent.
There is a reason why this issue has gone on as long as it has and the the amount of warranty work needed to properly diagnose the problem is likely #1. It's a lot of $ Ford would have to pay the dealerOk fellas - my driveline vibration is G-O-N-E (for the 3rd time - isn't the saying something like, "3rd time is a charm"?)... it better be gone for good this time, because it's been a BITCH since approx 1,900 miles and 11 mos of my "new car" ownership (have just over 15k on it now).

Sound advise, I took my buyback $$ and 2 days later bought a Hellcat Challenger - so far no issues & rides smooth as glass (like a new car should)I have news for you, I got mine from Holman, and they flat out refused to fix my car. .Oh mine said just to shut me up they would call an FSM but it would do no good. So they got a guy on the phone, who said there is nothing wrong with the drivetrains in these cars, he believes its the engine harmonics. And then they reported to the ford customer service lady I had been dealing with, that an FSM looked at my car.Funny. My dealer in Los Angeles also refused to service. They said they would not call an FSM to come look at it. They suggested I retain a lawyer and pursue the Lemon Law. So I did. About 3 months in now.
