As I understand it, the vibration can destroy the transmission and/or diff. Right now looks like we should trade vibe cars as soon as warranty is up. I think they should extend our warranties on the transmission. I want to fix my car and keep it a long time. But in modern cars it's just cost prohibitive to do ANY major work. Cheaper to buy a new car. So this concerns me far beyond it's annoyance. Right now I don't drive the car more than I have to. It sits in the driveway on weekends. I don't think that is what Ford intended. Still hopeful.

Got my car back from having the front flange/nut replaced to fix the loud clank when it goes into D. Didn't fix it. Still just as bad. In the garage, it sounds like something is going to break. At least I now have a 100K warranty that is probably useless since they can't seem to fix anything. And I just don't have time to keep taking it back over and over and over. Probably just go trade it on a truck and be done with this PITA. I'd contact FordService but the FSE has already worked on the car 3 times. They have just beat me down to the point they win- I go and trade, lose a pile of money but it won't be on another Ford. Ever.

It has also been proven to be the cause of OPG's failing, that was one of my big concerns with this all along. And in my case, if my OPG went, you can bet they would have pointed the the S/C and laid the blame there leaving me stuck with a huge repair bill

So glad this will be over for me on Monday !

For those that have done this... did you just use the pinch seams for the jack stands or somewhere else??

Update. Did the hose clamp on car balance myself. Vibration is currently 100% gone. Still letting them put a rear in it on Monday.
It only took a single clamp at the rear of the ds to fix it. I simple put it on and kept turning it till it felt 90% gone. Then test drove it and its perfect as of now... its as smooth at 60 as it is at 20.
Ford should really have a better fix for balancing these DS.

It's sounding like a visit to a real driveline shop could cure most of these issues.

It's funny, on new cars you think you're set with a warranty, but in two cars I have owned, issues were never fixed by the warranty. It wasn't until later after warranty when I or a paid mechanic looked at it, the problem was gone. On my 98 F-150 the AC cycled way too much. Ford said it's fine. cycled on and off every 3 or 4 seconds. Just adding from refrigerant cured that problem. On my 91 Dodge stealth I had miss shifts 1-2 under hard acceleration. Dealer said no problem found. A mechanic I was paying to do a service on the car said let's try changing to a thicker fluid. Problem gone, totally, forever.

So I talked to my neighbor who is also my ford mechanic about the TSB. Told him i fixed the vibration with a hose clamp. He said they are waiting on kits for the tsb... and assumes it will be an on car balance as well ( aka clamps on the ds )
At this point I don't see the need to put the rear in the car if my vibration is gone. Id rather them Balance the ds correctly with weights and be done w it. Thoughts?

I don't know all the details about getting your diff replaced, but I would say, if it doesn't need replacing, then don't do it. You run the risk of introducing new issues, whenever your car is worked on. Particularly when there are fine tolerances or adjustments that have to be made. Again, I don't know all the details, but I would say only replace it, if it needs replacing.

They were replacing the diff hoping it would fix my vibration... i fixed it with a hose clamp lol. They replaced the DS and it took 50% of it out.. I then balanced that ds on the car myself.

I'd hold off. The chances of them creating an additional problem are at least 50/50. Plus, the new rear end probably comes with a pinion flange on it so you would have to re-balance the DS again.

So I just got a call from Shelly? from FoMoCo about my escalated case. Im a little confused by the conversation ha! She told me she is a Customer Service Manager of some sorts (I cant remember) and that she has talked to my dealership and gathered up all my information and her only advice to me was that I needed to talk to the service manager and the sales manager at the dealership regarding my issues with the car.

I didn't want to sound like a dick to the person who is supposed to be helping me out but who does she think ive been in contact with? hahah

The managers are the only ones that I talk to when I go there so how is she supposed to help me out?

OH, she also told me that my claims and concerns do not warrant a buy back and that on a Mustang a vibration is going to be normal.....I asked if every mustang coming out of Dearborn has a vibration so bad that it renders their Rear View Mirror uselss at any speed over 50. My 90 LX 5.0 and 92 GT and 95 GT never shook that bad. The 95 also had a bent axle and it never once shook that bad haha!

In other words...

Anyone want to buy a 2015 Premium Ecoboost? HAHAAH

I haven't even owned the car for a full month and I am already tired of it. Thanks for draining any and all excitement from owning my first new car FORD!
