This is for Ford Tech One and any other doubters.I am a Auto Tech with 35+ years experience,THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM.I have owned 7 Mustangs from 1979-2015 and my 2015 is the only one that had a drive line vibration.I have driven and diagnosed several vehicles with drive line vibrations over the years,I know how a drive line vibration feels. I had my drive shaft replaced and it still vibrated. I changed the rear clock position on the drive shaft/pinion flange 5 times and it is good now or 90% gone still feel it once in a while when cold.My yellow dots are not lined up now it vibrates when they are lined up,it is clocked 2 holes clock wise now.

NO ONE IS SAYING IT'S NOT A REAL PROBLEM. I've owned more Mustangs than you plus being tech too so what your point? Mine does have slight vibration too but at least I've taken mine in not doing this pouting I WANT MY TSB . You being a tech know full well people read forums and start thinking my car has the same problem (this goes to anything). YES people are hyper sensitive to everything and complain then do nothing. Learn to use the game to beat the game.

The only reason i found this forum is because i have vibration not on a ghost hunt. Im an Aircraft tech and passed an ASE in 11th grade (almost 30 years ago). I think we all have the capacity to understand what is going on with these first and now second year cars. My frustration is waiting for someone to fix what i probably should have just done myself and be out enjoying the vehicle. However, it has warranty and thats a promise from the manufacturer that is free of defects for a period of time . All car models have problems this one seems to have a few more.

From post #1119:
Check the vehicle's driveshaft to verify that there are yellow paint indexing dots. One yellow dot should be on the left side of the driveshaft and another yellow dot on the high side of the companion flange.

The Ford Engineer hooked up his vib equipment and said its good. The dealership tech that was working on the car still felt some vibration after but the Ford Engineer says it's down to crappy P Zero Nero tires. I haven't driven the car since the rear end was changed. I'll see Thursday I guess.

vibrating

wow, i thought i was going crazy with this vibration until i read this. anyways, my car started to vibrate on the front area when hitting 55 mph. i thought the wheels were un balanced so i brought it to americas tire. they said the wheels were unbalanced and balanced it and off i went until i hit the freeway again.

so i brought it to ford dealer in montebello calif and they did the same. they said it was unbalanced and balanced it. i returned it back to them and now they said it was from the aftermarket lugs that was over torque and the wheels were bad now and since it was aftermarket they couldnt do anything for me.

so i put on other set of wheels and i still fell the vibration when going high speed. so do i just take this car back and tell the service to check on the drive shaft because its a known problem? help?

Call your dealer and make sure they have vibration equipment. Driveshaft wasnt my issue but metal in the rear differential. Replacing the rear diff fixed about 70% of the problem. Now its chasing down a possible bad tire or tires or wheel, or bearing. Call ford customer care and get them involved. They will help you with the dealership.

The ford engineer who looked at my car and who I spoke with wasnt all that helpful at all , like the noise wasn't a real issue or anything . Even with them changing my driveshaft I still have the humming noise present at 65mph . I'm still waiting for a phone call back from ford whom I contacted regarding this issue because I am not happy at all with the outcome

Did they say why some of these differentials are eating themselves up?
No they didn't. Looks like a vendor problem with the drive line components though. I'll be having the fluid changed after this summer to make sure this one isn't eating itself out.

I think after waiting a couple weeks after my driveshaft replacement and reading these recent posts I have decided to escalate. Not mad with my dealer at all, they have performed as expected, but this is a complicated issue and needs an engineer. My vibration is better, but not gone and every day when I hit 50 I get reminded that my car is a POS, and that is not the right way to feel. I think with the vibe analyzer they can get it better if not perfect, although it should be perfect, every other car out there is. Had plenty of cars with driveshafts and this was never and issue ever. Will be sending the email to Ford Service this weekend. OK, here's my angry rant. It's bad enough I had to settle fort the V6, the least I can expect is to roll down the street quietly!

Make sure your dealer has the vib equipment. Do you have an aftermarket shaft or a factory shaft? If it's an aftermarket you may want to see if the dealer wants the factory on back in.
