I'm starting to wonder if people like yourself are brainwashed by the Internet that a "vibration" is present, when in fact the "vibration" is simply the road surface and suspension firmness.

I've driven multiple S550s (both Ecoboost and GT) and never have I experienced any objectionable "vibration". In fact, I drove a 2015 GT PP MT82 every day last week at highway speeds and never once experienced any "vibration issue"; in fact it was extremely smooth by sports car standards.

Does anyone have measured readings from this claimed "vibration"? I find it very strange that people on here claim "they all do it" yet I've never experienced said vibration in an of the S550s I've driven, and nobody has any proof that it exists in the form of diagnostic readings.

im cruising along, listening to nice music. all of a sudden i feel this light vibration and i think 'must be 55mph time' and i look down and low and behold im over 55mph. then im like 'cant wait to drop below 55mph so this vibration can go away' and then I do and guess what little buddy

the vibration stops.

hows that shtick working out for you btw? the being an ultra critical online personality / expert on things. is this an exclusive persona just for us, or is it shared IRL with others?

See post 1278.

Verified drone noise around 62 mph in 6th gear. Can duplicate in stall. Re-orientated driveshaft to attempt to lessen noise- no change. Used MTS4000 electronic vibration analyzer, picked up a 1st order drive line vibe at 62 mph. Suspect drive shaft issue. Visually inspected-nothing abnormal noted. Suspect shaft is static balanced, and within spec. Recommend balancing to vehicle driveline.

Installed magnetic base, photo sensor, and reflective tape on drive shaft. At 62-64 mph in 6th gear the drive shaft RPM is 2832. Removed exhaust system to gain better access to drive shaft. After 5 failed attempts due to photo sensor/magnetic base moving causing false readings and weight being inaccurate - obtained a reading of 7.7 gram centimeters out of balance.

Measured drive shaft circumference- 221mm. Placed test weight on shaft and made recording. Moved weight #1 30mm from center of test weight location, and added weight #2 135mm from center of test weight location. Made another recording- final drive reading 4.2 gram centimeters- within spec. Re-evaluated, drone/vibration at 62 mph no longer present.

That's why the tech said mine was better after the rear diff was replaced. was already wearing the rear diff. I just bought mine April 14th, brought it back to the dealership the 15th, picked up the 16th, back the 19th and they have had it since. The 30 day clock is ticking :clap2: Wednesday the Ford engineer is flying in and if they say it's just how it is I'll EXPLODE!! :paddle:
Finally got the car back yesterday and the noise is still there . A ford engineer was there and did test drive my car , came back and said he has to do more research on it. He said he heard the noise but could not pinpoint where it's coming from . It looks like he wasn't concerned at all nor really interested, I'm extremely disappointed that my car has been sitting at the dealer for three weeks for him to tell me that . Driveshaft was changed, diff was rebuilt , finally a new diff was put in and nothing at all .

I plan on the skipping this carnival, aluminum driveshaft is going in next Wednesday already ordered it. I will say this, I had the car up on a lift today and the 2 piece...pos driveshaft they have on these cars has so much play in them. As well as the center bushing its no wondered they vibrate.

I will be reporting back on how it turns out, because as it is right now I cant stand driving this thing on the highway it feels like the wheels are gonna fall off.
Please do, i'm interested on how it turns out. I also wonder what the pinion flange runout is.

It may come down to poor QC when building the drive line components so it may never just be one part. It may come down to several parts. Im sure if you put all the driveline parts at the edge of being in spec you may get vibration. I really envy those that are not having problems and feel for those that got new cars only to still have issues.

Yea I'm going to give ford a call today cause I'm not happy at all. The tech from dealer who was extremely helpful even agreed with me that the noise was still present . He told me he went crazy trying to pinpoint the noise but was unsuccessful. The ford engineer who was present at the dealer said he even heard the noise but he believes it could be some form of wind noise  .Its deff not wind noise as I have been in serveral 2015-2016 S550s and none make this noise. I don't know if theres anything much I can do at this point. I don't want to bring my car back to the dealer for it to sit there another serveral weeks.

I have run into this issue @ 4000 miles. I crawled under the car and my driveshaft yellow dots & pinion flange yellow dots weren't lined up perfect. I brought it to the dealer and showed them it. Just got a call that they had lined it up and it didn't make much of a difference ( according to them ).

They have a Ford Field Service Engineer coming in on Monday to work with them on "rebalancing the driveshaft". Service Manager says Ford knows about this problem..........
Here is a picture of the dots. This is how the car came from the factory. My vibration started at 50mph, disappeard at 75 but the car would drone inside, just you couldn't feel the vibration. Vibration was back at 85mph but faster. So basically 50-85mph was vibration/drone. I could put it in neutral at any speed and the vibration wouldn't change.

its easy for me to pass judgement on QC/design issues because look at that - those components arent powedercoated or painted. im used to pulling DS's out of 20 year old cars without a bit of rust on them because the manufacturer cared enough to coat the DS.

Come on Ford - give us an official response on this. The idea of selling my car and getting a Lexus ISF is starting to sound very tempting.

This is for Ford Tech One and any other doubters.I am a Auto Tech with 35+ years experience,THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM.I have owned 7 Mustangs from 1979-2015 and my 2015 is the only one that had a drive line vibration.I have driven and diagnosed several vehicles with drive line vibrations over the years,I know how a drive line vibration feels. I had my drive shaft replaced and it still vibrated. I changed the rear clock position on the drive shaft/pinion flange 5 times and it is good now or 90% gone still feel it once in a while when cold.My yellow dots are not lined up now it vibrates when they are lined up,it is clocked 2 holes clock wise now.

Here's the VIN: 1FA6P8CF9F5347316

Wonder if you called a Ford dealer and gave them the VIN they could look up the service records and see what went wrong.
Sales guy said system was down but saw engine work was done such as tappets(lifters) and head as well as wind noise.
