Hey Guys,

Quick question. Did a procharger install and the car is running super rich after tune. Tuner says install error. Can anyone tell me their vacuum at idle in an s550?

I don't have a supercharger, but mine reads about 20.8 inHG at idle and in park.

stick a vacuum gauge on one of the vac pipes rather than trust the computer to get a more accurate reading.
It will fluctuate a little and it changes when the evap purge valve is open.
I’m memory serves mine is about 17.4 Hg/inch according to the computer on a normally aspirated car. I think the computer reading is a derived value based on other sensor inputs. E.g maf, throttle angle actual and rpm etc.

Running rich suggests you aren’t making the boost that the tuner expected you to make at any given rev range. Either a boost leak, or over sized pully so you charger is spinning slower than tuners expectations.

Hey Guys,

Appreciate the replies. The car has a Fore level 2 system, D-1x setup on the biggest pulley and 1050x ID's. The issue is...the car is running stupid rich even at idle. Ive looked over everything and can't find anything, FP is correct, No cels. He's thinking the MAF placement on the intercooler end tank might be causing the issue but I can't think of anything else...really frustrating.

Except there’s thousands in use just fine.

Yep, I know. It IS Lund tuning it though...they said they'll occasionally have issues with them.

Its not a vaccum leak, that would cause a lean condition, log and see what your long and short term trims are rather then looking at your a/f ratio. Are u on 93 or e85?

If you still want a vacuum reading at idle i can go check mine. Don't have an actual gauge but I can go off of what it says in the dash.

Pretty sure it's MAF at this point guys.

We did another base tune that was aimed scaled more towards a standard size IC. A/F under throttle was almost spot on, but at idle the car is still running super rich and airflow is very turbulent. This seems to me as if when the airflow is lower the MAF isnt reading it correctly...once it picks up it's more on target. Really cant think of anything else as there's no kinked hoses/etc....nothing impeding airflow.

I’m running a Paxton kit, DW 1000’s, 3.6” pulley, 2018 manifold, longtubes, no cats. So similar set up minus the fuel system and placement of the MAF sensor. Lund did my tune as well, my vacuum is usually between 20-21 hg/in at idle. It does fluctuate but not much. My gauge is tapped into the line that goes into the manifold behind throttle body so it’s accurate.

I believe vaccuum at idle for me is around 18 hg/in. I will double check later.

It seems unbelievable that Lund can't tune it when they have tuned a thousand others. Maybe the MAF itself is bad? You could get the pipe off the intercooler from the GT350 Procharger kit which relocates the MAF to that pipe if that is really the issue.

Do you know if the pipe off the intercooler from the GT350 kit fits on a mustang gt since the bumper is different? I am interested in making this switch as well. Also, do you know where I can purchase this?

Yes, I believe @jlwilson10609 did this without issue. Probably have to get the part from Procharger direct (or have it custom made)
