Also, once you do the SYNC update to newest build, the unit puts a specific file on the flash drive, that you in return are supposed to upload to their site.
I'd assume they use it to track what updates have gone out and what your current VIN has, but maybe that's why it's showing you need update when you have it or shows you don't need it when you do...?

Yes, that is what is supposed to happen. When I first spoke to Ford CS this morning their system said I had 3.0 which for a 19' is not possible. I then checked Ford Owner and it said, of course, that I was current with 3.3. When I called back the second time the first agent had made the change and it now shows 3.3.

I got the gen2 v1.1 screen also and i updated. Took about 15 minutes. No change as far as I can tell
Mines had said that sync 3.3 is the latest for the longest time before this update

What build # do you have? The latest is 19025.

My maps are being installed as we speak, hate having to let the car idle, but don't have anywhere to drive anyway (thanks covid).

please let us know how maps installed and what version(should be 1.19)

mines is 19052. The unit originally came out of a 2019 fusion

The build is now good, but the maps not so much. Car idled for like 40min, said install was complete, I turned it off, got out, all that, went back in couple of times, still says maps are 1 17. I've contacted Ford service on Twitter, which is a pain, but so far the lady only pasted in the instructions for the map update. I already have those and followed them. Frustrating a bit.

So you got 1.17 instead of 1.19? Wow, I shall sit then on my 1.18 maps...

What I don't like about the 3.4 user interface and makes me wish I hadn't upgraded from 3.0 is that the map is smaller. The main screen banner and the map footer (where the name of the street you're currently driving on is displayed) are noticeably taller than they used to be, which makes the map smaller. It's most noticeable on the home screen (which is where it bothers me most), but also in the full-screen view of the map.
And the red arrow signifying your car on the map is absolutely ginormous. What's the point of that?

On the plus side, now it's possible to see the ETA and remaining number of miles to destination at the same time, which in 3.0 wasn't possible.
On the minus side, they've implemented this by adding yet another banner, which makes the overall usable surface of the map even smaller - as if it wasn't small enough already.

Did you unzip all the files including maps and license files into USB?

How did you manage to get the maps for Europe to work?

I don't know, I just downloaded the package from Cyanlabs and followed the instructions. There were several packages there, depending on language packs, whether you had navigation or not, etc., and you had to be careful to download the correct one.
It worked as described right from the first try. I didn't do anything special.
Sure, I made sure the USB stick was formatted as exFAT, the zip file was extracted directly in the root folder, there was nothing else on the stick, and turned off the auto engine stop in the instrument panel settings - things I already knew from previous updates.

I do not think the 40 minutes was enough. That’s the issue I had with 1.18. It said it was done when it wasn’t. Others realized that and just let it run, some for over an hour.

So you got 1.17 instead of 1.19? Wow, I shall sit then on my 1.18 maps...

All 3.3 users got 1.17 after the update to 1.18. It was a glitch in 3.3. My wife’s 18’ Escape with 3.0 says 1.18.
