Has anyone successfully gotten 4 19X11 wheels with 305/30/19 tires into their S550 without having to put one in the passenger seat?

I can fit 285s on 10" wheels (I played a lot of Tetris when I was a kid). IDK about 305s tho...

i pack (4) 18x12/335 without any issues - 1 in the trunk, 3 in the back. this is in addition to all my gear (jack, jack stands, gas cans, tools, helmet, spare diff housing, spare axles, smartstrings, etc etc) . there's a lot more room in this car than you'd think!

I am very intrigued. I managed to get only two in the back with the seats folded down and one in the trunk. The fourth had to ride shotgun.

Details on how you managed to get three in the back?

I've packed my 18x10 Apex wheels with 275/40/18 in the car. One in the trunk, two stacked on top of eachother and one vertical on the folded down rear seat. Also had a large toolbox, jack, jackstands, helmet, HANS, duffel bag, canopy etc. all in the trunk. It was a very tight fit, but you can get ALOT of things in there if you pack strategically.

This is great to know! I will be purchasing 19x11 wheels with 305/30R19 track tires by the end of summer and I've been wondering how I was going to make it work.

I was contemplating a small trailer like some members here use, but I have to travel a minimum of 200 miles, some much more, for most of the tracks I go to. It would mean more time on the road for the slower speeds required when pulling a trailer.

A small trailer isn't the end of the world. My gf and I went from Oregon to Lincoln, NE and back with one at 75 mph all the way with no problems. Sure, it would have been nice to go faster across the vast expanses of wide open highway out west but 75 isn't 'slow'. It would also be tough to fit all the track gear plus another human in the car for a multi-day trip.

If you remove your rear seat base, it buys a lot of room in the back seat.
It pops out in about 5 seconds.

never thought to take pics on the road, since it's just something i do to make shit fit for racing :)

... but just cuz you guys are special (and because i had to stay home with my sick son today):

don't fold your seats down OKC S550 - you'll use up precious space (and introduce a lot of exhaust noise into the cabin, depending on your setup). the pics i took show the rear seat in, but i usually have a rear seat delete installed when i'm heading out of town racing, which gives you even more room. fwiw, i don't think i'll have any problems when i move to an 18x13 setup later this year - there's still daylight vertically/horizontally, even with the rear bench in place.
i like to think it's pretty (and functional) SteveW - and iirc, i had my car packed faster than you had your trailer packed up and road worthy down @ crows, especially with all your hitch r&r shenanigans. and i *know* i had a lot more stuff to pack than you did :p

boardkat I see you have your passenger seat removed do you think you could get away with the stock seat in the way? Also where did you get those wheel storage bags?

I hope the wheels in the back seat are strapped down in case of an accident on the road to/from the track...

until recently, i'd been packing like this with the stock recaro seats - but an offseason switch necessitates removal of the passenger to fit the wheels in the back (due to the width of the tires, and fixed seat back design). with stock seats, it's very easy to get the tires in the back: slide the seat forward, fold it down, and get your tires in.

i leave the passenger seat out when daily driving for functional reasons:

.. it makes daily trips to daycare and the dog park infinitely easier! :)
also makes it easier to remove the rear seats, put the delete in, and pack my tires on raceday. that said, it's literally a 2 minute "inconvenience" to get the seat out/in:

"where there's a will, there's a way" :D

i bought the bags years ago from a racing friend in arizona (blackwatch racing). they double as both a great way to transport tires, as well as functioning as passive warmers (to keep heat generated in between autox runs), since they unzip in a way that allows you to cover the tire (they're insulated with the same material used in keeping pizzas warm). he stopped making them awhile back, but i think he may have started making them again:

I hope the wheels in the back seat are strapped down in case of an accident on the road to/from the track...
why? they aren't going anywhere (i put the passenger seat back in when traveling to/from events), since they seat nicely against the seatbacks, and the middle one is too wide to fit between the seat gap.
