These tires are awful. Cars slides everywhere in the rain and won’t even move right now (wet ground + cold temps). Just spins the rear wheels slowly. It’s actually pretty comical. It’s mostly a summer car but I need to be able to move it in the winter. Im thinking the summer only Michelins?

If you are going to drive it in winter I would not get summer tires. The stock A/S pirellies like a bit lower air pressure. Try 28 cold. Still not the greatest tire.

UHP A/S are better than any road you will drive except a track. I like the good year exilerate (SP)

The stock tires are pirelli summer only tires that come with the performance pack. They are awful. I aired all the way down to 26 with no improvement.

the car will only be driven March-November. i just need the ability to move it out of my driveway in the winter to move cars around. Seems like any other tire would be able to do this except these junk pirellis.

Big recommendation from me for Bridgestone RE980 AS+ UHP all seasons. I’m usually “Team Michelin” but these have been outstanding.

No summer tire is going to work well in the winter. They will all be like the Pirelli's. Most don't even want you moving the car below 35 degrees.

The OEM Pirelli's like to be really hot to get them sticky. They are 100% meant for track & dry conditions, and only if it's wet, but not road conditions wet. I switched to 285/30 Nitto's NT555 G2's, and the stick a lot better than Pirelli's at cooler temps, but the Pirelli's are still stickier once hot.

I drove the Nitto's through freezing temps and near-iced over roads and haven't had issues, while the OEM Pirelli's have nearly spun me out once or twice in the wet. Currently using 305/30 Petlas PT741, and they feel similar to NT555 G2's when cold. Can't speak for once fully hot, but I haven't chirpped the tires yet. Also driven in freezing temps.

if you're just "shuffling" cars around why not just sand/kitty the sh*t out of your driveway?

Also doesn't Tesla make a flame-thrower? Melt that sum'bitch snow. Actually you can get propane wands (the road crews use them to soften asphault) and melt the snow for the moment.

Guy on another forum suggested this and I’m going to try it tonight. But long term I’d like a tire that will allow me to drive in the rain when the temp is below 40 degrees. That gets me another 3 months of driving here in Michigan.

I would go Ultra High Performance All season. That is what I did on my PP wheels and drove in cold weather. The leading contenders are Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 and the Michelin Pilot All Season 4. I went Michelin and they were night and day different to the Pirelli's. I drove them in wet and single digit temps with no issues, and they handled really well even in warmer temps. Put factory size on and all.

if "winter" means below 30 degrees, then I see some all season tires in your future.

Also, airing down isn't helping your situation. You're not rock crawling. Leave the tires at the normal pressures (which means airing up a little when the temps drop suddenly).

If your going to drive winter, I recommend a snow/ice tire it makes a world of difference.
I run a mt radial for spring, summer, and fall, then swap to a snow ice tire in winter.

I’m going with the Continental DWS. Looking for a set of take off rims to mount them on now.
