Replacement tires for Pirellis on Base GT

Have a 15' auto Base GT with the 18x8 OEM rims, 235/50/18 Pirelli tires. Want a tire to use on these rims. Only warm weather driven, no winters. Mods are 93 Lund Tune & Pedalmax. Pirellis suck @ holding the extra power on street & track. Need a tire with much better dry traction. Will sometimes take to 1/4 mile track for test n' tunes. Any suggestions other than Nitto NT555G2 that will fit 18x8?

I hear nothing but good things about Michelin Pilot Super Sports and I know they use them on the GT350's. They will most likely be my next tire.
